Thank you all for being honest with me, I respect your opinions! But I'll leave it in the way it is. That's how I like it.

Oh, it's the World 5's secret star.King of Eterity wrote:OK, but what the ass is this path?Greendan wrote:Thank you all for being honest with me, I respect your opinions! But I'll leave it in the way it is. That's how I like it.
That is the longest path I have ever seen.
But the length is just unnecessary.Greendan wrote:Oh, it's the World 5's secret star.King of Eterity wrote:OK, but what the ass is this path?Greendan wrote:Thank you all for being honest with me, I respect your opinions! But I'll leave it in the way it is. That's how I like it.

Yeah, but I think it would scrap the main objective of the episode. So I recommend to retexture Npcs into nsmb ones.Snessy the duck wrote:I'd recommend you remade the levels to not use NSMB gfx, as they clash heavily with the rest of the graphics (Like Mario and the NPCs). Also, some screens lack coins.
Which he won't do because he likes it the way it is. I don't think it's worth further criticizing the graphics anymore, we know he won't change them.arcade999 wrote:Yeah, but I think it would scrap the main objective of the episode. If you look at braineats episode there is a decent amount of NPC's that are styled in 1x1 nsmb.Greendan wrote:Update: 15/3/2017

Thank you! Actually, the munchers I ripped were from Super Mario Maker. But still, I will work on their shading.Squishy Rex wrote:I have to be honest here, I've seen a lot of projects and episodes over the years where they've used NSMB series graphics but also used classic 8-bit mediums and they have looked pretty horrible. This however, actually looks decent. Throughout the entirety of the levels you've shown, each conforms to 1 rule (8/16-bit NPCs and NSMB series Blocks/BGs/BGOs etc) for the most part and it looks appealing. The level design looks a lot like what you'd find in the NSMB series, it's expansive and really calls out to exploration. Keeping the 8/16-Bit NPCs is something I am glad you did, most of the ported/ripped NSMB series NPCs look god-awful as sprites. They are models (not NSMBDS) and just don't have the same fluidity as what you would see in the NSMB games. In SMBX the model ports look uncomfortable and jerky. In my opinion those are part of what ruined some of these older projects.
The only thing I don't really like is the Muncher, it looks out of place against the HD objects and the 8-Bit sprites. It's mainly the Muncher's head, it's flat and has no shading or depth about it, while the leaves however do. If you're interested in the actual NSMB series Muncher I think I can get it for you or I might even be able to do a bit of editing to the existing one if you want.
In any case, I'm really looking forward to see what comes of this project, good luck and keep up the great design!
Yes, but the animation doesn't look good in the way he did it. I will try to make the npcs with all of the frames to look smoother.AirSeus wrote:If you look at braineats episode there is a decent amount of NPC's that are styled in 1x1 nsmb.Greendan wrote:Update: 15/3/2017
