if you want to make a normal level, put effort in it and make it serious.
you CAN add jokes to it, but if it was something really big, the player would focus on the joke and forget about the whole level.
jokes need to be minimal, like a talking npc or something unexpected, etc. and not a whole section.
see, the thing is, you only paid attention to the joke in your level, try to make most of the level serious.

so next time when you make a level, make it serious and normal.

Yeah, I do this too. Then the level is funny, but not ruined

Fun fact: First, this level was supposed to be a normal level, but i thinked about putting a hardcore level at the end, just like asmbxt, but i changed idea...

Ironicly; its a bossedit8' video that gives me idea and make me love joke levels!
