<Valtteri> i think i know how trump won now
it baffled me how half of the us can be racist but i kind of realize now that not all of the trump voters were racists necessarily
they had to choose between change in the white house (so not hillary because she would have meant more of the same) and hillary
and the change would come with a racist
they didn't necessarily agree with the racist and mysogynistic stuff but their lives sucked
and they could kind of live with the racist misogynistic stuff trump kept spouting
because they're white men and it doesn't affect them lol
still makes them kind of self centered but i kind of get it
they thought trump might be able to make their lives suck less
i do not get women voting for trump at all though
that's definitely a vote against their own interest
<Aristocrat> thats what i tried to tell you earlier this week ffs lmao
<Valtteri> it's such a shame trump is bringing racism back in the white house tenfold though
<Aristocrat> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
<Valtteri> gets to shape up the next generation's supreme court too
and all this after the first black president
<The0x539> hmm
<RsupertheGreat> my question is: black or white president
<Valtteri> it's like you think for a second, with the first black president the racism is going away but then BOOM
<Aristocrat> i mean
<Valtteri> AMERICA ELECTS A HARD CORE WHITE SUPREMACIST
FUCK FEMALE PRESIDENTS
<RsupertheGreat> america is now lead to disaster
<Aristocrat> people were dissatisfied with obama, which isnt his fault because he couldnt do much against a mostly republican senate that blocked all his decisions, but now people want the opposite of obama because they think it will actually change things
<Valtteri>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46ZLAT7BY_s
<RsupertheGreat> .-.
lel
<Aristocrat> can we just
abolish any sort of government in america
<Valtteri> sounds good
why is the senate so republican
all of the 8 years with obama they rejected everything he proposed because they can't agree with a black man
then a republican gets elected and they'll probably accept anything he says
that's not fair
<Aristocrat> tbh
i dont actually think thats the case
a lot of republicans didnt agree with trump either
so this is indeed an interesting situation
<Valtteri> we'll see i guess
man sometimes you're just happy you're not american right xD lmao
they say with trump being so pro putin russia might go on a conquering spree(edited)
but i can't really see that coming
better sit back and enjoy the show
i spelled putin with a g
<Aristocrat> pugin
<Shroom> this would be a real hammer ... if the elector council would tilt the voting result, as requested by anti-Trump demonstrations
<Aristocrat> >would be a real hammer
<Valtteri> btw can someone tell me how it's ok that the electoral college produced a different result than popular vote
<Aristocrat> because thats how the election process works lmao
<Valtteri> but why
<Aristocrat> idk man
<Valtteri> i don't understand why it needs to be like this
<Shroom> you mean the "winner takes all" principle?
<Valtteri> yeah what is it accomplishing
<Aristocrat> that and the fact that the college people can change their decision if they dont agree
<Valtteri> that's fucking weird too but i don't think that's what happened
i'm pretty sure they always pick the one that got the most votes in the state
<RsupertheGreat> my reaction is: are they drunk
no
actually
<Aristocrat> yes
but the fact that they technically could is absurd to me
<Valtteri> yeah that's not democratic
<Wind> bernie should have become president
<Valtteri> actually with the democratic nominee the super delegates actually went against the popular choice
bernie got more votes but the delegates who ultimately get to decide the result went
"idc i'm picking hillary lmao"
which would normally be viewed as a direct violation of democratic principles but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
<Shroom> do the US actually
claim to be a democracy
<Valtteri> I'm pretty sure they do yeah lol
<Spinda> like the democratic people's republic of north korea or w/e it's called
<Shroom> Wikipedia says: "Germany - parliamentary democracy, USA: presidential republic"
<Aristocrat> so technically
<Valtteri> i guess it's not in their title but i'm pretty sure it's common to say that the us is a democracy
