It's the equivalent of IRC, only there are cooler and more active users. You aren't going to get people sitting around discussing political or serious matters. It's going to be all memey.

For real guys, can you please stop spamming short messages all over the place (making the chat way too trafficked), spamming pointless emojis and pinging parties (today I saw 11 pings and scrolled up all the way just to detect a pinging party)? Forum rules also apply on chat.

You haven't been much into chatrooms? Just asking bc.. thats usual something... then again... i did know that the community people can't handle it being on discord. Good thing there are other groups to be in which are less cough idiotic cough

It's not like the community couldn't handle this; just judging from the very first days I have doubts if the community can handle it in a non-abusive way, and I've been long enough on Discord to tell that randomly pinging and abusing the @everyone command is not tolerable.

Anything with 2.0?

It's really not a big deal, just mark all notifications as read :L

Joey disabled @everyone and @here commands. Even then, you can disable them yourself. I understand that mass pinging is annoying, but keep in mind you can easily prevent those mentions from pinging you.

Well, I had some PM conversation with Joey and this morning I opened Discord with 19 notifications and first I was like "what the hell, 19 messages from Joey" and it were "only" 8 in fact. Generally, I wouldn't want to disable @everyone just because some people abuse it and then I might possibly miss something truly important (e.g. an announcement by HoR on his mafiastation server).

Heh? I guess his server is not on Joeys thing so that's different. The everyone and here commands are for every channel. Disabling them on Joeys channel doesn't affect others + you can disable them for each server by their own.

I actually just now restricted use of @everyone - turns out what I had done before was just my individual settings.

We will only create additional channels when a discussion topic clogs up the main channel too much. That hasn't happened yet. We'll also just pin messages when we have something important to say.

K. I think it's a good idea regardless of clogging, but alright.

What about the voice moderators thing tho?

Does the voice chat need a moderator?
