You can do this via PGE or if you have way more time in your hands, take pictures by pictures and then put them together into one giant image but it's way, way easier to just use PGE anyway. You can not only take specific domain of the area, you can also screencap a entire section of it.

I guess making backgrounds are kinda easy. Too long to make them tho. As you can see, the brick blocks are cancerous. The goomba is bald and very sad and mad. The piranha plant doesn't have teeth which is weird. And the background clouds are candy. The candy clouds are my aim btw.

Cool. I havent seen anyone use sliding as a gameplay gimmick. Also, that must be one hell of a block count.

Yeah but at least you can use sizeables and background objects that prevents it from going too large. ;P

I don't see what kind of candy they're supposed to be. I see owl eyes and beaks. Claydol-style.

Hey! I remember that level from the AA2 Demo! I think it looks good, but the clouds clash a little, even when they're recoloured!

Think I should use the SMW clouds instead... not sure if it will be changed in the process because to me they do look fine but I can always change it anyway.

A bit of a work in progress thing I'm making with LunaLUA, it's unfinished, the background is supposed to have parallax and some water motion, but hopefully I'll maybe put it out to the public sometime

I'm interested in this already! Hopefully you'll gonna show it as of how it plays. So far it looks pretty cool even though I don't see much out of it so far but I guess we can be surprised as of what it has in store right here.

I'll probably post something on that new video thread, I've been thinking of plenty of ways to show the level off without spoiling everything about it, I've been really shy about posting levels here, so I'll hopefully break out of that with this :)

Small cloud are one of those coffee candies, the big clouds are like cough drops and such. It's okay if you don't see it. I respect that.

Even though I'm p. sure you can do this with vanilla smbx as well with off-screen moving layers.
