It is not an episode, it is the ability to use more vanilla graphics, such as block-639 to block-700, background-191 to background 200, and it also adds a lot of paths, levels, tiles, and scenery, but that is not relevant for the contest. About judging of the previous contest, that depends on weather or not you get submissions.

If they are allowed, that means all judges need to have those graphics in their default graphics folder. (A graphics in blocks, backgrounds, and NPCs, up to the next multiple of 100. SMBX 2.0 comes with the NPCs set to that, but the blocks and backgrounds (as well as tiles, scenery, levels, and paths) were added yesterday. As such, all judges should have them installed as Sednair explained in his thread how to do. I appreciate them being allowed.

Oh if that's the case I'd say let's hold on that. If all of the judges are okay with it then I'll allow it, but I'll figure that out. For the time being I wouldn't use the extra blocks.
What do the CC contests do with these?

What do the CC contests do with these?

The NPCs come with 2.0 actually and I used them in my CC12 level. Everything else came out on June 15 which the last CC was CC12 which was around March, give or take. I hope my level is allowed for this theme based on what I have planned.

I want to make this 1 episode again, but I might get rid of the boss idea. After I complete SMC I will be able to make time to make nice hubs or maps myself. If the first year of contests isn't an episode I will make another post with all the file shares for them at the very least.

I am going to miss that, because I wanted to make a lua based boss. I can help with hubs and world-maps. I hope the contest is a solar eruption (blast)!
