When I said trash the forum I meant the 100 pages thing, not the whole archive. Also, thinking over it the "muh 100 pages" thing isn't even a problem when you can just merge continuation topics to make them go from 50 to 100, and then just move everything else back into the regular forums.

I honestly think threads shouldnt be archived at 100 pages anyways, just leave them alone. I'm on forums that have threads over 800-1000 pages and it's fine. Makes less clutter because you dont need to keep remaking the same thread.

I don't see why we shouldn't add it. It's a simple preference that users should have the freedom to change. If it involves trashing the 100 page archive system, then so be it. It's an incredibly petty concept and is a huge waste of effort considering users have made several uprisings to get rid of it.

Non-relevant: Please start considering your userbase's ideas more often. Reaching a middle ground between two sides is better than "your way or the highway" which is what the philosophy is here. Also, don't just pass off my opinion thinking because I'm not a mod or admin I have no right to tell you what I think, because that's SUPER arrogant. I'm the same age at you. Power does not mean you're at a special societal pedestal over your users. Try to look at your userbase from their eyes and you'll start to see why they hate you so much.

It's not possible for me to allow users to change the amount of posts per page themselves. I can look into changing the amount of posts per page to twenty instead of ten if there's substantial support from the community for it (which would make archiving topics at 100 pages happen less often than it normally does, and likely not at all in the case of CC threads).

As for your aside, TNT, I understand what you're saying but you need to realize that we (the staff) know what we're doing and if we didn't then we probably wouldn't be staff members. If you have a problem with the staff, take it up with us via PM. We don't bite!!! Going that route is a lot better than making a melodramatic post about how we need to "consider the userbase's ideas more often", which just makes everything more frustrating than it needs to be.

Also at the beginning of the thread there was a lot of initial support that should be factored in with the poll results.

If we had 20 post per page, threads wouldn't reach 100 pages as quick.

Nevermind, it would be easy to just change it to 50 pages like you said.

The page rule won't be changed to 50. I'll probably end up merging the threads together if this happens.

Imo this is something we need to work out here. If you vote no you should also explain why you voted for no.

Maybe people are shy or think they could get some rude replies.

I don't think we have to say if we voted yes, but I agree that the ones who are against it should say why.
