lunadll is awesome it lets you have custom sound effects in your levels
and also character-sensitive events
it's easy, just go to http://www.gamearchaeology.com/TUTORIAL.txt and follow instructions

Sorry but I read the tutorial, and this seems like it requires way more spatial reasoning skills than anything in default SMBX.

There isn't an easier way, so you either learn it or leave it.

It would be easier to change characters if the tutorial mentioned the names of the actual SMBX players.

That doesn't change the fact that whoever reads that tutorial without having ever played the Talkhaus episode or finding your post would be confused. Thank you for enlightening me, though.

How do you make new NPCs for SMBX?

Unless you're making something from scratch(aka programing), I don't know what you mean. There is a command to reduce the health of boss(so that MB doesn't take ten hits) using AT_SetHits.
You probably mean change NPC flags though, in which case, this thread isn't the right place to ask.

this may be not related to the topic, but i've seen someone in the brazillian forum program a chain chomp (with his own slot in the smb3 section and all) except it was glitchy, maybe someone can check that out and contact him to know how he did it?

That's a prank tutorial.
Perwinkle did, however, program a custom NPC into SMBX. I don't remember if it was a chain chomp, but I know he said he used the cheep-cheeps' programming as a base. There was a video of it. The NPC was very glitchy.

Didn't Chad also made one?

Chad used custom graphics.
After a quick search through the Brazillian SMBX forum, I found what we were looking for. Perwinkle used Visual C++ to try to implement a Big Bertha into SMBX. It didn't have its own slot, it replaced the Boo. It also didn't work and glitched the shock out of SMBX (a screenshot can be seen here.)
The thread for this failed project can be seen here.

I'VE SOLVED THE CASE

Wait a second, if that's the case it could be possible to implement C++ programming into the creation of a new version of SMBX without even the Source Code. Even if there's no source code, it's still possible to modify it just a little with some of these.
