Fun fact: Mewtwo was cut because of time constraints, so Lucario didn't "replace" him. If anything, one could argue that Sonic replaced Mewtwo, because instead of releasing the game in the expected date and including Mewtwo, they delayed the game to work on Sonic and left Mewtwo out.

Yeah, I kind of have to imagine that Lucario's B attack only became so similar to Mewtwo's after Mewtwo was removed, as a tribute to him or whatever. You wouldn't want two moves that are that similar on unrelated characters. I would also imagine that Ike's B became more similar to Roy's after he was removed for the same reason.

I never tought of it this way. Probably explains why Lucario's and Mewtwo's specials are somewhat similiar.

Yeah, I don't know this for certain but it seems likely to me. They're both characters that are often thought of as replacements for characters from Melee but all they really share are those two attacks. Seems oddly coincidental to me.

Kirby's Dragoon is back, and some people complained it's too overpowered. In my opinion, if you can hold onto all three pieces and actually hit somebody with the item, you've earned the one-hit KO. Also, Villager grows trees.

Yeah, I don't think it is overpowered. The most overpowered items are either hard to get (Smash Ball and Dragoon) or have the possibility of failing (Hammer and Golden Hammer). The only one that is truly overpowered is the Master Ball, unless it is really rare.

I'd guess that the Master Ball will be ultra-rare, on the scale of the Golden Hammer (rarest item in Brawl IIRC) if not more so. We're not clear on exactly how it works yet; it may just be a new look for Poké Balls that have legendaries in them (i.e. nothing will change other than aesthetics). I wouldn't make any judgements about this kind of thing until we have real information.

Items aren't used in competitive matches anyways, so it's not like you have to worry about them being overpowered either way. Besides, in the hands of a truly skilled player, items like the lightsaber in Brawl or the parasol in Melee can be truly broken.

You now have the option to play as female villager rather than male villager.

I just found a picture of Kirby's Final Smash in the next Smash Bros. I have expected Kirby's "mega suck attack" in Kirby Triple Deluxe, but it is the sword of Kirby's Adventure Wii.

Dude that was announced like a month ago. It's not new. But I was glad to see it be his Ultra Sword instead of his Hypernova

Yes, I know. I just wanted to post a picture of it here.

Alright, one of the daily pics from this week kind of got me hooked.
Image
At fist glance, it doesn't show anything new, but on closer look --- who is the 2nd player playing as?
It might be Zero Suit Samus, but if so, what's wrong with her position? She looks like her limbs could fall off any second. She also looks a bit too holographic to be Zero Suit Samus in my opinion.
Here's a reference picture:
Spoiler: show

The 2nd player looks like Dark Samus, but I don't think she/he will be a playable character. I think it is a special attack of Zero Suit Samus.

Dark Samus could be a costume for Samus. To me, though, the second player has Fi's colors from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I don't think he/she is playing as Fi though, as Dark Samus makes more sense.

Dark samus is confirmed to be an assist trophy btw.

I didn't even think about fi. It kind of makes sense in the context of colours, but either ganondorf or ghirahim should be the other zelda chars imo

I'm fairly certain that the screenshot posted my Emral has Zamus as the second player, doing her down B, which now apparently has an afterimage effect. Nothing too weird.

Also, I am very happy with what they chose to do with Kirby's final smash. Cook Kirby was way too easy to avoid and not powerful enough to make it OK. Ultra Sword looks more badass to boot. I would be incredibly happy if they made what sword Kirby uses random like in Return to Dream Land. That was really awesome. Hypernova wouldn't really work with Smash mechanics, I feel. It's too one-dimensional an ability and always ends in Kirby swallowing whatever he just inhaled, which wouldn't make much sense with Smash gameplay.

Sorry, i'm incredibly tired by the way so I apologize if this is repetitive/doesn't make sense.

Oh yeah, and female Villager confirmed. Yay.

Kirby's new final smash looks great and everything, but still looks rather easy to avoid if you maintain distance.

Ancient Greek gods are too OP for Smash Bros.

If we can have legendary Pokemon, why not Greek gods?

In a serious note, what do you guys think about this?
