Y'know what I really dislike? when a topic gets locked because one of the mods/admins don't like it, when most of the forums thinks otherwise. And the only things the global moderator/administrator comes out with is a downrep or two. I really hate when they do that.

Can you show me any examples of this?

I'm willing to see some examples as well. I may not check so regularly these forums and even spam the hell out of the "mark all threads as read" button, but I usually check like 20 threads out of the daily active ones.

Ive seen users who have a number as their rep, but looking at their rep box they don't have enough reps (Zephyr has a +2 but only one rep total)

Why is this?

The search function isn't finding this "too common words", but Joey once said "That's enough of this thread".

Well, one of the reps may be from knux. For instance, Cyrex got 1 up rep from knux.
Then I checked it later and there were no comments on his rep page.
So maybe it has to do with the people that repped them got their accounts deleted/ deleted their accounts.

Sometimes I notice some privileged users have less posts showing than what their profile says. My guess there is a secret privileged users-only forum that has discussion about certain things and make posts that don't show up on their profile but count towards their post-count.

(I'm looking at you level designers.)

There are some forums the registered users can't see. These are the level judges forum and the staff (admins and mods) forum (maybe there are other forums, but I don't know).

I remember I've got 2 downreps one time, one from FanofSMBX and one from zlakerboy357, which were deleted, so that's not for Knux (but maybe some upreps/downreps disappear for him). I think those downreps were deleted because one time Joey did something to the reputation system which deleted all the previous upreps/downreps, but I don't know.

Yes, there's a LJ Discussion board, Staff Board, Admin board, a Council Board, and User Suppression Board. I don't think it makes too much sense for those posts to count, but it really doesn't matter either way.

I have another suggestion regarding reputations:

There should be an option to see the up-votes and down-votes that users have given to other users, not just ones that users have received. Also, since my previous suggestion of the dual columns is too time consuming to make, I suggest having a simple icon to differentiate up-votes from down-votes instead; there could be a green thumbs up next to up-votes and a red thumbs-down next to down-votes or something similar.

Woah, that is probably so much easier to make. :) I really think that is a good idea, as it isn't time consuming, and it makes it alot easier to find out what a rep is. :)

You mean like an Announcements board?

If so, yeah, I agree.

Sort of, but more like a newspaper-esque thing. On Knux's there was a News Writers group. Each writer was assigned an article or something.

Remember when people stopped updating it a month later. Yeah, great idea.

Make it monthly. Problem solved.

The monthly news on Knuxforums never really panned out. It would work for a few months at a time, then die for like 6 months, then be revived, and the cycle would continue. It's a good idea but it'd hard to find people who are dedicated enough.

Also, there's just not always enough news to report on a monthly basis.

I'm sure we could scrape up something, like Episode reviews, Official Contest results, and staff pro/demotions

Also the "work for 6 months die for 6 months" is the same with LJs lol
