I'd like to try SMBX out, but I have an iMac (OS X Yosemite) and I don't want to have to switch over to Boot Camp every time just to play... is there SMBX for OS X? If not, how difficult would it be to make it? I found this thread with a bit of digging, but I would rather not have to use Wine if I can help it.

There is no SMBX on OSX at the moment, and it would be more prudent to redevelop SMBX entirely than to try to port it/remake it for Mac.
You'll have to use Wine or Bootcamp, sorry.

Anyway, here I wrote tip as one of attempts to solve sound and music problem: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 88#p110688 on Wine (How I told, Microsoft MCI is too much buggy and this audio engine internally using by SMBX. SDL Can solve this problem because it internally decoding all musics and SMBX should get normal sound & music playback under Wine).

Sounds Keep Disabling Themselves and Re-enabling themselves and it's not all of them at once, it's random sounds at random times.
I Run a Toshiba Windows 8 x64 Laptop and it used to not do this. Anybody know what the problem is?

Try the LunaDLL with SDL (it replaces audio engine with SDL2_mixer which uses internal independent codecs to pay music), I think this is a problem of the MCI which now is a buggy API.

Well im back after a year since my last login.Im a bit outdated through.
I readed most of the posts and already taked a look at VSMBX but my question is:
Should I still use 1.3 to make my SMBX Episode or should i switch to 1.3.0.1?

Your choice:
It is a fixes of content and tiny mod of exe file which replaces some hardcoded graphics and replaces splash page which redirects to nintendo site. It is still same smbx 1.3 but with fixes of content.

Please note that we are not capable of adding substantial new features (powerups/custom buttons/etc.) to the level editor.

As RudeGuy said, no new features can be added to the game, as it says in the first post. Sorry to disappoint you. SMBX's creator, Redigit, left the community after development was shut down in 2010.
Multiplayer editing is available in 1.3, but it's laggy and a bit difficult to set up.

Not exactly lag but buggy to utulize since it is still in the beta version. Testing is incredible buggy and it can be very risky to make a run time error out of it.

Okay, there's something that's been bothering me for quite some time: Toad's carrying graphics have a line on them that shouldn't be there:
It's easier to see on the fire and ice sprites.

I downloaded the zip version to see if maybe something messed up during the exe's installation, but the sprites are still like that.

It's probably a virus to be honest, and yes, that's fake for sure. If 1.4.0.1 was real it would've been on this site LONG time ago

SMBX galaxy made one with LunaLua and some GFX packs and call it 1.4.0.1.

Exactly as Txunere said. If you still don't know best is to ask Joey. After all why would it be on some other forum but not here hmmm?
