Super Mario Bros. X Forums

I know Mario 3 had some new ideas, but you're forgetting that Mario has a sense of tradition. Through SMB 1-3 the Mario Bros., Bowser, Toad and Princess Peach, and the same enemies always showed up. They knew that Mario games are like Jenga: without the starting bottom layers, the tower will fall. Just look at how SMW removed Toad, Hammer Bros., and Goombas.

The distorted travesty that is LunaLua doesn't get this. Whilst I appreciate the Frog Suit and Starman, I don't like the new stuff. Zelda is even treated as a Luigi REPLACEMENT by the game (ergo no 2-player). If you look back, it was always Super Mario Bros., not Super Mario and Some Random Elf. And I just don't get all this whining about NPC and powerup slots. Just remove the SMW NPCs and the Ice Flower and BAM - all the slots Marioheads need. So if you really want to "use LunaLua to its fullest potential", you know where to find me.

P.S. please don't compare me to Cat Mario from that lame Super Mario 3D Flop. Have you even seen the Cat Mario and Cat Peach Show? It's just an advertisement for SM3DW using PUPPETS. LIKE SESAME STREET. It's the worst way I've seen to "mainstream" Mario since the USA put SMB3 into that awful movie and spoiled one of its secrets that should have been EARNED by players, not just handed to them on a reel of film.

And by the way, i'm not a Mariohead, i'm not just going to blindly follow into this stupid joke like everyone else is.

Your all probably just going to keep doing this and pretend to be serious when i can definitely tell that this joke is being completly forced.
I hate how people are derailing threads just for not being completely based around mario.

But of course, knowing this community, your either going to ignore this entirely, or insult me and tell me i'm not a real mario fan.

^ Look at this. Just look. One of the pioneers of SMB1 episodery and a long-time friend of mine... and this is who he claims to be. He doesn't deserve to have Mario in his name.

We are trying to have good conversations about Mario here, calling our cause a "stupid joke" is really disrespectful to late Shigeru Miyamoto. All these fakers arguing and pounding their keyboards is not really what Mario is about.

Guys, there is no need to fight, it is unhealthy. We are only encouraging people to go back to the basics, we're not forcing them by any means.

Exactly. The whole point of this thread is to inspire one another, not divide us.

But i still find it stupid that the level forum is crammed with "Backtobasics" Levels, and people are derailing project, graphic, and possiable even episode threads
just for this one thing, that's not supposed to be taken seriously.

What's wrong with our levels? They are all made with the care and effort of any SMBX level, they just follow the community guidelines and fit in with the Mario lore. Why don't you actually play them instead of attacking them for being made by Marioheads.

And I think all true Marioheads are in agreement that we do not support derailing other threads, even fakers. #NotAllMarioheads

I am really starting to get pissed off by the fact that people are calling me, Pixel Pest, MosaicMario, Sednaiur, Valterri and whoever else uses Lua, makes custom GFXs or just wants to innovate and twist a few things. As much as we like to have a nice classic Mario game from time to time, I really don't like it when people who are exclusively making classics give those that sometimes (or only) want to use non-classic Mario concepts unkind labels such as 'FAKER' just because we aren't exclusively mainstream Mario based.

how can you go back to the basics by trying new things
