Can we use the API particles.lua? I forget whether or not that's included in the most recent Lua or if it's only included in 2.0.

Getting inspiration from a song can help. Just have fun, and try to keep meme humor and bad jokes out of your level and you'll do fine.Zeldamaster12 wrote:Shooting for something above tier 1 this time. I submitted a level for CC9, but I had no idea how to use custom graphics (not that vanilla is bad), the level was cramped and generally unfair, and overall it was mediocre which is why it placed in tier 1. But hey, I know how to use SMBX a lot better than before (still don't know lua at all though but whatever).
I should probably get started on my level though. Each contest I've procrastinated on, so I should at least TRY to submit a level this time. I doubt I'll place above 30th, but I suppose it's all part of the learning experience.
You can just put APIs inside your level's graphics folder and use them from there.PixelPest wrote:Can we use the API particles.lua? I forget whether or not that's included in the most recent Lua or if it's only included in 2.0.
Oh. Okay. Didn't know you could do that. Do you still have to do local ??? = loadAPI("???") ?Spinda wrote:You can just put APIs inside your level's graphics folder and use them from there.PixelPest wrote:Can we use the API particles.lua? I still don't know LUA either, so I can relate with you there. I still haven't even used PGE either. XPZeldamaster12 wrote:Shooting for something above tier 1 this time. At least the joke reviews are funny ;3; )///Tinkerbell wrote:Don't forget those who join and submit a shitty tier 1 level. We always have those.
I've tried out PGE, but I'm simply more used to the legacy editor. When I start using 2.0, I'm sure I'll get used to PGE.The Thwomp King wrote:I still don't know LUA either, so I can relate with you there. I still haven't even used PGE either. What are you talking about? No one is shitposting. We're having general discussion about SMBX and the contest. There's nothing wrong with that.ShyGuyOfMoonside wrote:Am I the only one around here that doesn't use PGE?
I love this shitpost period after people have started submitting their levels.
INCLUDING ME WHY HAVEN'T I BEEN BOLDED
Sorry, I only realised that after I posted. I didn't mean any harm, everyone!Zeldamaster12 wrote:What are you talking about? No one is shitposting. Except this time, I won't send a joke level.Turtwig wrote:At least the joke reviews are funny ;3; )///Tinkerbell wrote:Don't forget those who join and submit a shitty tier 1 level. We always have those.
I already have hopes for you winning (or at least between 5-2).Bomber57 wrote:Sign me up mate.
Meh, I was hoping you would be in the top 10, but then again there are still alot of good levels out there.Harvey36Dice wrote:My goal for this contest is get 18th (or lower) place again.
