Can we use the API particles.lua? I forget whether or not that's included in the most recent Lua or if it's only included in 2.0.

I submitted a level for CC9, but I had no idea how to use custom graphics (not that vanilla is bad), the level was cramped and generally unfair, and overall it was mediocre which is why it placed in tier 1. But hey, I know how to use SMBX a lot better than before (still don't know lua at all though but whatever).

I should probably get started on my level though. Each contest I've procrastinated on, so I should at least TRY to submit a level this time. I doubt I'll place above 30th, but I suppose it's all part of the learning experience.
Getting inspiration from a song can help. Just have fun, and try to keep meme humor and bad jokes out of your level and you'll do fine.

You can just put APIs inside your level's graphics folder and use them from there.

Oh. Okay. Didn't know you could do that. Do you still have to do local ??? = loadAPI("???") ?

I still don't know LUA either, so I can relate with you there. I still haven't even used PGE either. XP

I've tried out PGE, but I'm simply more used to the legacy editor. When I start using 2.0, I'm sure I'll get used to PGE.

I used to hate the PGE interface until I forced myself to get used to it and realised just how much more efficient and user friendly it was. I still use the Legacy Editor to place warps though--especially when making hubs I find the Legacy Editor layout a bit more useful.

Am I the only one around here that doesn't use PGE?

I can't wait for the shitpost period after the deadline while everyone waits for the results.

What are you talking about? No one is shitposting. We're having general discussion about SMBX and the contest. There's nothing wrong with that.

Sorry, I only realised that after I posted. I didn't mean any harm, everyone!

Yeah, procrastination is a plague that is hard to get rid of it.

Except this time, I won't send a joke level. ;)
But it is a very low chance if a joke level gets into Tier 2.

Yes guys that's why Valtteri's Fortstress exists, they're the only good joke levels out there.

I already have hopes for you winning (or at least between 5-2). :)

Meh, I was hoping you would be in the top 10, but then again there are still alot of good levels out there.
I was originally hoping for at least a good rank out of Tier 3, but I doubt it would be that good.

Edit: I don't recall suddenly making two posts of the same thing, I must have messed up when I made this post.
