Yes and no, because it builds on the original game

But neither are bootlegs since SMBX is not copyrighted or licensed.

No. 1.4 is a completely different engine. 2.0 is a mod, 1.4 is a bootleg if you want to be technical.

There's been two demotions btw. Neither of which had to do with anything substantial that would effect their reviews.

Keep in mind that, while this may not be what you'd want an LJ to be, LJs still have moderating power so it's important that they're trustworthy. While taking fake levels may be a minor offence, it still was basically the first impression he made so it's only logical he'd be demoted.

I'd also prefer it if who's a Level Judge and who not wouldn't always be brought up. If you've got a problem with a level judge feel free to bring it up in PM to a Mod or Admin but complains about why someone is not a Level Judge won't affect anything because there's a good reason they're not a judge.

Sure it's important that they're trustworthy, but I don't really see how faking levels matter to that. Like the logic goes "this guy didn't make these levels therefor he will abuse his mod powers." It's actually kind of funny when other LJs have abused their powers but it's Mr.Daniel that gets singled out. I have also talked to admins and mods about this as a matter of fact back when Linik and PixelPest were deleting my tips thread, but they were trying and hide who was doing it instead of helping and it's pretty much pointless to talk with them - which has also been discussed in other threads - so I'll just be dragging this through the mud until it catches on. Also there's a new secret rule going around now where I'm not allowed to ask about this type of stuff either, so it's not like I could ask if I wanted to anyway.

Oh, and shortly after I posted I sent a PM to the LJs and I got pretty much exactly what I expected so whatever.

No, the logic is "he didn't make these levels and that's dishonest". It's nothing further than that.

We didn't disclose who was deleting your thread because it didn't matter at that point. I'm not excusing the actions of the judges - deleting your thread was wrong, but who did it is irrelevant.

They're still judges despite abusing their power. Others have been demoted for their abuse (the #BTB levels moved) and that's arguably not as bad because at least nothing was lost.

Second, your "Level Tips" thread wasn't entirely helpful, since it shared few pointers, and all of them said "if you do this in a level, you suck as a person". Tips are supposed to be entirely helpful and have a friendly approach to them, and are only to act as just that; tips. Tips are not supposed to be guidelines on how people should and should not build their levels, tips should only exist to give users some general ideas of what is acceptable, yet they don't have to abide by them. How was it abusing their power exactly? Was it just because they deleted a thread that you made that, to be blunt, was not very helpful at all? I sense a superiority complex here.
