Who are the StarNet Staff?

You didn't mention a bunch of users (including me) getting permabanned.

Oh, right.

Nobody was actually permabanned - we just had a ban already set on a range of IPs that contain the CDN we're now using. I removed the ban and that was taken care of.

Really? I know that he replaces ChanServ, but he talked with me and Samuel at Samuel's IRC channel, and not once.
Also here's an IRC channel at Kottnet, for those who want to access working SMBX IRC channel, since we still can't connect to StarDustFields: http://webchat.kottnet.net/?channels=smbx
EDIT: nevermind it finally works.

You can make every bot talking (apart ChanServ). The command is /bs say <channel> <message>. You need to be op to make a bot talk.

No, no, not like that I mean. I was mean a bot, that can say things. Like for an example, I was on a IRC chat, (server name forbidden to say), that if you PM it it will start talking to you like CleverBot. So it is a Bot like CleverBot. - Or a bot that will act funny.

But what I think that the Channel should have is a bot that will detect the funny things that people say, and save them. So for an example, Quill: *Said something funny* and the bot will detect it and save it. And the command to see the quote again, could be like:

Code: Select all

/Quote <NickName> <Quote Number>
- I don't know, just a thought. Because I saw a lot of people in their signatures have quotes that other people said, and when it has <> on each end of the name, I thought it means it was/is from the Channel. - I also saw this from another channel.

That's nonsence.
Every nickname in any IRC webchat has these "<" and ">" around it.

So does anyone like the idea?

If I'm reading your post correctly, you're saying that there should be a bot that automatically detects when someone says something funny? As in, makes a qualitative decision about humor?

I'm no expert in AI, but I think that if a bunch of people mucking around on a Mario internet forum had the ability to program such a thing (no offense to you lovely folks), the world would have already been taken over by robots.

What he just said is that the idea isn't even humanly or technologically possible at this current time.

Plus it wouldn't be useful at all to be honest because everyone has different types of humour.

The only way to write something like that would be to write a script to manually tell a bot to save a chat message, but at that point, it seems to be kind of pointless when you could just do that yourself

People who ask others to die on IRC should be warned instead of people who are being asked to.

Yes because they're definitely being serious.

it's the victim's fault for not dying when they're told to
