Forum Themes

So if you were around for April 1st you migth've seen that we started implementing new themes for the forum.

Some people have expressed their willfulness to help create more themes for the forums, so if you're one of those people, here's how you can help:

Download this file: archive.smbxgame.com/smbxstyle-12.28.16.zip
In that zip, you will find the graphics the standard forum theme consists of. To create a custom theme, edit those files and send us a zip with the new theme you created.
You will also find a colors.txt file. Edit that file too and change the color codes to correspond with your theme. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory. The secondary block colors concern the color a box becomes when hovering over it and the color a link or text in that block will turn into.
It's possible to use animated gifs for the icons, but it's not advised to change the dimensions of the icons.

We have already created all standard Mario themes, meaning SMB1, SMB2, SMB3 and SMW. Themes we do not need are the SMB3 Desert, SMB3 8-1 and SMB3 Ice themes, as those assets already exist on the site (World, GFX, Links) and can easily be implemented to make new standalone themes.

If you want to claim a theme that you want to make, do so in this thread.

And lastly: I said we already have all the major themes done. Then why aren't they selectable in board preferences? Because they're not implemented yet. Only the webmaster can do that, which is Joey/soon to be Kley. It will take a while for themes to be implemented and you won't make it go faster by asking us every few hours when your theme is gonna be available, so don't.

SMB2 Snow is MINE
Gonna use some CGFX (not changing the dimensions), if it's okay

Hmm. I wonder how Mario Kart's gonna be.
I think it'll be kinda weird.
And cool.
Good luck.

Is it possible to make animated icons like in the default smbx theme? All the images seem to not have frames.

I think i'll pick SMB Underground. If i can use some CGFX, then that's good, because i would want to make the background as atmospheric to a cave. I think it's not possible.

Seen as the files are gifs, it's absolutely possible to use animated gifs for the icons.

No, the images have to have the same size as the original, otherwise the layout becomes wonky.

Looks interesting! Can we make a custom-style theme for the forums?

I think that would be yes, since there are someone who actually wants to work on it.

m4sterbr0s is still listed as a global moderator on the "The Team" page, despite not being one anymore. Also, speaking of the "The Team" page, Horikawa has a weird empty drop menu to the right of her name there.

m4sterbr0s is a has the Global Moderator role, he's just changed his visible group to Registered Users, probably I'd guess due to inactivity.

Horikawa has the dropdown menu which actually shows that she's a moderator of only the Developer Discussion forum, however since it's invisible to normal users I'd suggest that's why the dropdown menu appears blank
