I'm very disabointed that it won't be on the switch and I hoped it would have been a sinnoh region remake. My 3ds was broken so I will buy a new one in a year or 2 but I will be buying a switch soon.

Gonna be honest here, Sinnoh remakes aren't coming anytime soon. Do you think that they'll do a remake of a generation that you can still play on the 3DS, knowing that Game Freak never jump platforms in the middle of a generation and gave us free Sinnoh legendaries in the previous generation?

Pokemon Gen 3 Remake Release Date:November 21, 2014
Maybe Gen 4 Remake is Coming to 2019. Maybe its in the works by Game Freak or it is planned to come soon?
Also I hope this "deluxe" thing doesn't become a normal thing with Nintendo Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokemon Ultra Gen 7, Poken Tournament Deluxe. I rather them make a whole new game to me I feel like it will sell better if they do.

Elite 4 + Ultra Beast sidequest. Haven't beat the Battle Tree yet though.

It's been confirmed to be an alternate take on S/M, much like Platinum and Emerald. It's not a sequel.

Well it's more like B/W 2
Yellow Crystal Emerald and Platinum are more of upgrades but they are still different.

But how? The only similarity is that they're two versions released after the first two. B2/W2 are sequels set in the same world, but US/UM are alternate takes like Platinum and Emerald. I already elaborated that earlier.

This really isn't confirmed, and I don't think you should be stating this as absolute fact just yet. All we know is that they offer an "alternate story", which is pretty vague and could potentially be something more like BW2 than Crystal/etc. GameFreak always uses really buzzwordy and imprecise wording (such as referring to "Pokémon that didn't appear in Sun & Moon", which almost certainly refers to the new forms for Solgaleo and Lunala and maybe some new Alola forms or something since this is clearly still Gen 7), so it's very hard to tell from a 45-second trailer. I think you're probably right, but it's not safe to state this as confirmed yet.

Off topic, when Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver gets released on virtual console, what should I name my Gen 2 rival?

The choices:

Badass (Because his character looks pretty badass imo)

Or Sam or BJ (2 guys my older sister dated irl that ended up dumping her)

In the initial fight against him, he introduces himself as ???, which is supposed to represent a name of your choice. Later, the police ask you for his name, and whatever you tell them becomes his name for the rest of the game. Many people, including myself, misinterpreted this as kids and told the police his name was exactly what he had told us it was, literally ???.

In an nutshell, it's more or less going to be gen 8 in 2019 (or 2020).
I don't see gen 7 continuing on the switch, and since it's not expected to be released over a year after 2017, who knows what could happen?

When a main series game comes to the Switch I'd expect it to be Generation 8, honestly. That may seem too soon, but we don't know how long it'll be until it releases (there was no footage, logo, or title given so I wouldn't be surprised if it came out in 2019 or so). And I'd expect that Nintendo/GameFreak/Pokémon Company would want the first console-ish release to be a big release with a lot of new content.
