wood looks decent, but the top and bottom areas are really banded. I recommend fixing that
Those aren't my graphics but I might as well ask anyway, how would you avoid banding in situations like that? (Referring to the very top and bottom of the normal wood tiles in FPM's sheet.)
A good way to do so is to not use so many colors in a small area, and to rearrange the shading a bit so it's not just a stack of pixel lines.

Okay, I'll do that, as I finished up with the editing of the dark shades of my wood GFXs. Still struggling with the lighter shades rn though

Okay, since it's been about one week since I show y'all mah
Sega Mega Drive wood tileset, I decided to show
BOTH versions of mah custom Mario sprites, because I'm been working on them as a gaiden project:
- (Nintendo) Gameboy style:
Please also note, some of the GB style sprites might require Lunalua.

So, it's been about a month since I last updated, and honestly, I didn't do much with the tileset.
I recolored some of the tiles, so it'd be more accurate to the SNES title.
I also added a Cement Mixer (with Bowser's Emblem).
Also, Happy (early) Halloween everyone!

I'm noticing that your colors are very similar and you use a lot of them to cover a small area to try and add depth. I recommend looking up hue shifting with pixel art to help you with this and remember as a basic rule of thumb that less is more in a small space in pixel art.

Depends on how expensive they are. Those are some quality vases either way.

the vases look decent, but I would maybe fix some of the banding on the brighter shades of it. Also the bone and skull need some shading work as well due to it not really following the shape all that well.
I just found a really good example on how bones can be shaded that I'll actually apply later on. I highly recommend checking this out.

I might fixed the skull & bone GFX asap, if I have the free time in real life to work on them, and if I'm
not drowned by real life chores and work that is....

Now that you mention it, I did end up using a lot of gray in said sheet.
Again, I'm not that skilled when it comes to custom gfx, so this is more amateurish in comparison to others in this same thread.
Regardless, I'll keep that in mind, and plan to change it asap.
(This might end up being awkward because I'm using the actual palette from SMW, and sticking to one row for these tiles, but I may have to change some things if it ends up getting too pale/strange for said tiles.)
Thanks for the feedback.

So I decided to attempt to work on my Mega Drive wood tileset as best as I could atm. So if you think the newly added and edited tiles looks
ALL wrong in your eyes, it's because I kept having art block. So cut me some slack....
It's because I was busy in real life, drowned with real life responsibilities and work.

I don't know if it's just me but, why does the third note block down look off-center?

I tried to recreate the animation frames of the original note block, but using a different music note.

Behold, s'more
Sega Mega Drive castle graphics, but with the SMB3 dungeon blocks being lazy brick design, and the pillar design from my castle level BG:

I've been making some sprites of blocks and semisolids, some are just edits of the original sprites, but the brick block, empty block, giant blocks and the 3D World semisolids were made from scratch. Also, I've made some variations to these ones, but I decided to keep it simple for the showcase.

What do you think about them? Are they any good?

They sort of look okay for a 16-bit demake of Super Mario 3D World assets imo...
