I do levels in SMBX, and I use PGE to clone. ( this is nice program!)

All right, finally did it! http://www.mediafire.com/download/gm0dc ... codome.zip
I fixed the darkest color of the tileset, which should look better. The length and hard mode difficulty are a bit beyond what has been submitted so far, but hopefully those aren't too much of an issue. I tried to find a balance between keeping Pwnhammer memorable like it's supposed to be while still keeping it reasonable, plus it's rather difficult to properly challenge a player wielding a Billy Gun. I can always go back and make adjustments if desired, but for now I think this turned out well.
Ace wrote:If I understand properly, if i want to clone something into section 4, I make section 4 big and then clone section 2 into it? Because that's what I'm doing and it's not fixing the problem.
While working on my level, I noticed that if a section's at its absolute smallest height (in which the top border is offset), then cloning it will work as it should. Apparently, this also works if you have a section with vertical scrolling while the upper boundary like that. It can be adjusted by shrinking the bottom boundary to one screen height, adjusting the top boundary a little, then expanding the bottom one again. See if that works.

And about the size, is between 5-8 minutes
Okay but don't make it too confusing. And it really shouldn't be that long...
Dark-Mecha77 wrote:I'll taking a break from this, I'm not working at the right pace, Would you be okay Valtteri? I would like to start working on this again when all the level designers have contributed 2 new levels. For a leveling. That okay?
NOTE: I added a song that is already being used in this episode, please delete this, just included it in the attachment so they can play without having the folder. (:
Sorry for using the SMB3 pipe, I not see anything suitable to wear, I hope you do not mind, could you take care of that please?
Great level! Although I'd keep the trees the same color. I'll see what we can do about the pipe.
Ace wrote:One concern i have with the shadow levels is that copying sections sometimes results in them being vertically offset by a few pixels. I'm not sure why this happens, but it means if you want to make any big changes to the tileset, it becomes almost impossible.
E: Also, I would like to claim brick hole massacre.
If you do what Chad said it should work. I usually just change the size of both the source and target sections and play around with them until the duplication is successful (save before copying).
Ace wrote:I'd rather not use a totally different editor for just one thing, if I don't have to. Is this what everyone uses now?
Nah, I prefer to use SMBX. PGE has all sorts of neat features like undo and copy-paste but you need to get used to it and you still need the original editor to test levels.

It's awesome! It's a perfect homage to the original levels. Using the Maridia background was a great idea. It's a lot of fun to play, too!

Here's two screens of my level! I decided to do a twist with the Shadow Realm gimmick. In the level you use it to travel between the Light Realm and Shadow Realm to solve puzzles. The first screen is the Light Realm section and the second one is the Shadow Realm section. The screens was taken with PGE by the way ;P

My Internet might be going out at some point, and if it does, then I won't be back 'til around Tuesday. So if I suddenly disappear for a bit, that's why. I can at least work on my other two claimed levels while offline, though.

I have been working at the level "Floating Brick Niche" Valtteri Should I remove any custom graphic?
I do not understand how it's supposed to I do section shadows at this level, ie Can this be more obscure?

No, I think that looks fantastic. Keep going. :) You can make the shadow dimension exceptional if you need to since the light dimension in that level is already pretty dark.

I think the shadow realm should still look different. If the graphics are all the same, it loses a lot of the feeling.
You could just make the background dark gray or red. You could use colors from the "SMB3 Magmafall" background by Kirbio in the Ultimate GFX Pack, for example.

I meant exceptional graphics-wise. You can make it less vanilla in order to make it appear more menacing. I don't know how much of a difference it would make to darken the background when it's already dark.

I agree with Chad, I think it would be more convenient if using another background such as a lava, magma, or etc, if I do the "kingdom light" does not look really threatening, and worst, would be impossible find a song of danger, I'll try to get the magma background, thanks for your suggestions!. (:

6-1 FLYNG RACCOON ZONE
FINALLY
https://www.mediafire.com/?xd71tmcm0i6wj7c
don't expect an overgraphiced and complicated level because i'm not at the same levels as sezix, mario7 and zlak, since their levels are much better than mine

It's great! I would rather if you didn't use the wood tileset with the green top, though. It's weird. The background in the shadow dimension could be darker, and I noticed you just removed the warp to the secret exit from the shadow dimension. This is a nitpick but you should reward the player somehow for getting there, now you just get a few coins. It's pretty troublesome getting up there afterall. :P

The background should still be darker, but otherwise, now it's perfect. :)

Can someone clarify the rules with regards to custom music please?
E: I would like to claim 'The Great Fish Fiasco' and world 12-9, but I may also claim 'To Planet Pwnhammer' and 12-7 at a later date.

I don't think we're supposed to use custom music unless it was custom music already used in the already made worlds. I'm not 100% sure about this though.
