Uh, but it does look bad, as it's spammed with NPCs and it's unnecessary long + switches. Also if everyone is going to do "what he wants", as you say, there would be no good levels out there.

Unique? it's literally taken things from SMB2.
Not that it's bad.

unnecessarily long? Or do you mean it's not going from left to right.

Im sure it's perfect lenght.

No, what I mean is:

1) You exit the door and enter the checkpoint;
2) You go right and start digging sand;
2.5) You have to avoid the enemy spam there;
3) Also you realize that you dug up the wrong way, you go up and start digging sand to the yellow switch;
4) Once you hit it, you have to go up again, dig the sand again, but later you realize that you dug up the wrong way again;
5) You go up, then you go left, and dig the sand again to hit the green switch;
6) Once you hit it, you have to go up and dig sand down again;
7) Then you go down to dig MORE sand and avoid spammed enemies;
7.5) Also a Snifit spam at the end.

This is what's in my view wrong, all of this makes the level tedious and un-enjoyable (for me). But this is just my opinion.

it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have 2 switch blocks to artificially lengthen the section. The section is comprised entirely of digging, which is already not fun to begin with. Not to mention the challenge in SMB2 was that shy guys would follow you down the pit, changing direction as they fall to reach you faster. the way they behave in SMBX makes it not difficult at all and just a pain. I'm not sure but I believe digging is also slower in SMBX. It's just a gimmick that really doesn't translate well across games, and this section is probably the least fun section I could come up with if I tried real hard.

The reason I didn't comment on anything else though is because everything else looks very good so far, and I want you to know that. I especially like the giant cave section you posted a while back. It's just that digging section in particular that made me sad :(

II's good that you recognized the bad design on your own, and the redesign doesn't need to be totally different. Just not as annoying to play through (especially if you end up having to redo it).

This diggable sand thing everyone keeps arguing about? I like it! I'd play it! :)

Well, in fact, that's the reason of why I'm gonna remake it - that section is boring and not fun, which is a thing I don't like. And thank you for the nice comment!

If I'll ever use it again I wouldn't such sections but instead trying to come with a better use.

Wow, RudeGuy07, this looks great! Everything's pretty polished. However, why is there a red shyguy in the ground?

That's in a slope. You can put NPCs in the slopes.

Also I finished the remake. It's a lot shorter and has less blocks and BGOs.

Since I started to spectate your project, I need to say that most of the screens you showed off so far, are looking very decent, in my opinion. I really hunger for more SMB2-gameplay since Reign's Mario Prime, so I am looking forward to play your great-looking episode when it is finished.
This may be first classical SMB2 episode in ages, and as only other SMB2-styled episode I know "Super Princess Dreamland" anyways :-P.

Please resume work onto it, and good luck for the further works :-)

Thanks guys.
Oh and also, here's screens for the 1-2 remake (I'm remaking every level that are in world 1 and 2, after that I'll probably upload the first demo).

And also here's a screen of the remake of 1-3:

For some reason I finished this level in 2 days, it still needs a good boss though. My main focus in this level are pansers (which replace hammer bros), and since they're quite strong in general I've added many vegetables too (though for some reason there are none in those 2 screens).

I completely finished this level. This means I have finished to remake the entire world 1, and to release the beta I just have to finish to remake world 2 (and fix some stuff in other levels too).
