Brazil isn't doing too great under Bolsonaro. Social distancing is absolutely necessary. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heal ... SKBN21913N
If it depends on Bolsonaro, we are all screwed. I am staying at home for as long as this virus goes on, and everyone should do the same.
I wish I could just go outside

Do you live in a big city or do you live in a rural place where it's easier to go outside and do a bit of individual walking / cycling / etc?
(even in the former case, maybe you can take advantage if the streets are empty)

Nope. I'm live in a town with connected homes

So yeah, going outside for a walk should still be fine, as long as you stay away from people.

Nobody around me is taking social distancing nor the virus seriously, and then I see the numbers and the economy in free fall and then this:

Olympic Games have been officially postponed to next year. There's no light at the end of the tunnel. This year will go down as the void year.

In my city the authorities say people should abide by the consequences if they're out of home after 3:00pm

In my country (Peru btw), people really aren't taking the quarentine seriously and it really pisses me off. Around 11,500 people ARRESTED just for not staying inside their homes. Honestly, if the virus doesn't wipe my country out, stupidity will.

On the other hand though, kind of glad to see that there are already patients recovering in the most affected zones of Europe and Asia, let's just hope they don't catch the virus again though. If that thing mutates, we're in real trouble now.

I can't expect Ottawa to open the border to US residents any time soon if Trump is serious about his Easter gathering plans.

The Canadian border is still open for business/trade as far as I've heard, and Ottawa said they still allow Canadian residents to return home (though I don't if there's a special process for either of these cases).

That would be a shame because months ago I was hoping to take a trip to Spokane/Coeur d'Alene or the Seattle area for old times' sake (I actually haven't been to Seattle yet, but it's still part of the familiar cross-border experience).

By the end of April the United States is going to be neck deep in cases. We should have been on lock down by the end of February to contain it. I don't think it will be a good idea to follow the news too closely going forward.

Definitely not as big of a deal as the media’s making it out to be, but if it keeps getting handled badly like it is at the moment then it could definitely end up becoming that bad.
said this earlier in the month...

annddddd it was definitely handled terribly. Situation got worse and it’s gonna be a few months before things start to calm down. Economic effects are gonna last even longer, probably.
