I've always thought that same thing. Sure each installment gets polish, better AI and such, but it shouldn't be released as a separate game, unless it has something more going for it.

Fortnite. I hate Fortnite cause it's way too overrated in every part of the world including poor countries. This is why I don't like it. Does anybody else hate Fortnite?

So you hate Fortnite just because it's popular?

I don't like Fortnite because it's a kind of battle-killer-game (battle royale to be precise), even in a post-apocalyptic setting.

and it's also a bit notorious for addictions.

It's like a few years ago in the SMBX community where I said I hate overwatch because it's popular!

As well, I also hate Minecraft (how many times this was already stated in this topic!?), Super Smash Bros. (it's too hard for me) and all first-person shooting games like Call of Duty (too violent even because I'm 15).

Mario Maker 2, people were so hyped with the new enemies, themes, mode etc from the trailer.
And then history repeats itself with Mario Maker that the game is filled with hot garbage and 9-year-old Timmy's levels.

This is why I stick to some of the fan-made Mario level makes tbh

I said the same thing when I was 14 until I bought CSGO back in 2017 and now shooters are basically all I play.

Also violence is not the biggest problem with shooters (quite frankly, most of the modern ones barely have any gore or blood and if they do, they usually offer a low-violence option in one way or another), it's really the toxic people that can (and eventually WILL) throw you off, especially in a game like CSGO where teamwork and chemistry are way more important than aim and map knowledge and having that one 12-year old screaming down their mics is just... not a good feeling to say the least. I speak from experience since I have well over 2000 hours spent in CS in those 4 years.

OK, time for my overrated video games: RTS games (and RPG style games) get super boring for me, even if I try to go for just an hour-long session. I get the appeal but it's just not a genre for me

The FIFA series is not overrated. Its rating is pretty low, but lootbox addicts are still buying the same game every year. I just hope this casino will be closed or at least limited. It concerns not only the FIFA series but all sports simulators from EA. I appreciate games where a donation can be spent only on cosmetic items, such as csgo, dota2, or LoL. I know, in LoL, you can also buy champions, but it's not that greedy, as in EA titles. After buying boosted LoL acc on https://www.lolfinity.com/buy-lol-account/, I was convinced that only skill matters in such games.

FIFA is overrated actually… it gets the same spot like most popular games that are overrated, but they actually not even that good.

Can back this up, a few times when I was playing solo queue, I played for quite some time until almost 2 in the morning, didn't even notice the time ticking away and the feeling of tiredness. I feel like Fortnite is one of those games that are simple but crazy addictive and hard to put down, especially when you're in an online match and you can't pause

I never played Fortnite and have been told that's a good thing.

Also, while it's a graphics technique and not a game, Ray Tracing is really overrated. It requires an expensive GPU and even then has a massive performance hit (which I've never experienced because I only play Quake and Minecraft at 1080p on my RTX 3060 Ti hahahahaha). Also, it's pointless outside of realistic games and is at it's most effective at high resolutions which in turn drain performance. Finally, only AAA games have it which in turn basically locks it into big-budget titles. Rant over.

Edit: I didn't mention it before but I think Megaman 2 is overrated as hell just like Sonic 2
(my personal favourites are Megaman 5 and Sonic 3, even if I never figured how to complete the Carnival Night Zone)

me too i completed sonic 3 with soinc/tailswith glitch Carnival Night Zone act 2 when you enter place your way gets closed and only way to escape is by jumping hard on that bouncey block

any game can be overrated or milked and i am stuck with old games i dont like the modern generation is a lot of FPS,MMO,battle royale type games,3D games/open world games.
for me the only games i like and its overrated BUT no one talks about is tetris and chess.
