Well lad, I think we can all agree that hot garbage is much better than a steaming pile of stinky dog sh!t which some of the entries will surely be. I mean, not to be harsh but if you place dead last or well, anywhere in tier 1 there's probably a reason behind it. No joke levels here either so last place will most likely be a REAL stinker.

I suggest that he takes a look at all the guides strewn about the General forum as they provide a great amount of tips to help in designing, maybe even inspire you a little.

Yeah. We have plenty of time mate. Deadline's just under a month away. That gives you plenty of time to see what works in your levels and what doesn't. Take your time. I've spent 2 hours preparing graphics and music today. I haven't even started with the level.

I've been tossing a few ideas back and forth through my mind for a level to create. I feel as though my life would be easier if I knew how to work PGE. I just can't figure it out for the life of me. I've been using the legacy editor since 2008, 2009 when I was around 8 years old so only just recently learning about PGE, It confuses me, plain and simple. Anyway, how are the rest of you doing with the contest?

I've been struggling with ideas just like you are. I mean, I have no problem using PGE at all (besides the fact that LunaTester never works for me), but I have a really, really hard time thinking of a level concept and sticking with it. Sucks when you're so indecisive over what you want to create.

The initial idea's always the hardest part. I've got mine now though and I don't usually have a problem sticking to an idea. I spent last night getting the graphics ready which was something of a pain. I had to make a bunch of recolours which didn't exist. I won't say what they are for... obvious reasons. ^v^

I should probably clarify a bit. I understand PGE at a basic level but although I'm hold no god-given talent for fiddling with layers and events, I do make frequent use of both making levels. The only thing I don't understand AT ALL about PGE is how events and layers work in it. Like if I place a block in a new layer and then switch to another block it switches back to the default layer. Drives me up the wall it does.
