Incorrect. We have 35 people who SAY they WANT to participate. But nowhere in the original post does it say you participate by leaving a reply. You participate by actually making your level and sending it in. All we do with people who announce their submission but then weasel out is giving them the death stare.
And make them as uncomfortable as possible for a couple of weeks.
Sorry about that, but I can agree with it now.

Because maybe the dog has better things to do in life than holding a couple of letters.

Why not submit a level from your project? As long as you haven't shown it beforehand this is a great chance to get some feedback

I generally advise against submitting levels from episodes, as they are designed to work in the general composition of the episode, whereas contest levels are designed to stand by themselves and can't rely on elements taught in previous levels.

It really depends on the episode though. Sometimes levels in episodes won't differ much from a designer's usual style/design (such as The Restoration)

Well yeah but The Restoration isn't a good episode.

I respect your opinion on the restoration.

I guess you can re-work parts of a level to then make them work in episodes.

Does not mean every episode will be the same though does it.

Levels in The Restoration don't differ at all from one another though lol

If your episode sucks as an episode? Sure, then it's easy. If your episode actually puts focus on being a game you might have to remake the entire level.

My point is that The Restoration is a poorly thought-out level pack, not an episode. The levels don't compliment each other, they downright kill each other. Every level uses the same ideas, has little to no regard to what came before or what comes after, and everything just blends together. I mean of course not every episode is like that, but once you leave this realm you get into "actually putting focus on being a game" and then injecting a contest level doesn't work.

If you plan ahead, then not necessarily.

Surprisingly enough, I don't actually like The Restoration. It is more like a level pack than an episode, and you get quickly fed up with the levels.

Why we are we talking about The restoration in the contest topic? :/

because it came up as an example of how using episode levels in a contest is a bad idea, unless the episode is more like a level pack than an actual progression - like the restoration
