While this is true, WinRAR's .7z support is known to be fairly shaky. If people are having problems extracting it with WinRAR, that's likely the problem, and 7zip will likely solve it.

I have to ask now, is it just my SMBX2 Beta 3 where every LunaLua API that's called with either API.load or loadSharedAPI stopped working? The only way to load them seems to be LoadAPI?

I haven't experienced that

This is totally weird, one API actually works with API.load. It is the only API in the episode that is used only in one level. The other APIs are used in multiple levels (and each level has their own API file in the level folder) and none of them work with API.load, at least not when played in an episode.

Well I can live with the LoadAPI since it works, but this just seems totally illogical.

:?: One question: would we be able to add spritesheets as costumes for certain characters? If so, how? :geek:

I really enjoy the demo, the Mario challenge, and the new Star Blocks! I will now recreate Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

A few questions:
--How do you switch the default costumes for an episode? (Say, limiting the playable characters to Klonoa, Broadsword and Peach.) Do the "Characters" lua scripts have anything to do with this?
--How do you use the new rinkas?
--Am I allowed to post levels/episodes/projects made with the beta?
--Is there a way to keep episodes out of the Mario Challenge? (For example, keeping levels from VVinter Redemption out?)

Some small bugs I found:
--Sometimes, while playing as Zelda or Broadsword, I dropped a powerup from the itembox, and as I pressed left and right, the powerup moved a larger distance in the same direction.
--Completing a level in the Mario Challenge in a way that triggers the "Bowser Defeat" event ends the challenge.
--Ultimate Rinka can't jump while standing on an upward-moving platform.

Question: What's the point of Wario's side charge + the lakitu helper?
I assume Wario's side charge can destroy breakable blocks, but I'm not sure. And about the Lakitu helper,
Maybe my game is broken, but every time I spawn a lakitu helper, it brings a magikoopa that spawns money from it's magic. Is this supposed to happen? Or is it supposed to spawn a cloud that'll throw projectiles like SMBX 2.0's Wario level?

It's been so long not playing SMBX until this release.
Enjoyed playing through "Mario Challenge" as Snake.
Here's the one.
Spoiler: show
Oh, and also... I found a bug.
In Mario Challenge mode, if you finish a level via secret keyhole, it will send you back to the world map (...of black void of darkness)

Guess it's a "Your results may vary." type thing because it worked perfectly for me.

This is a known bug, and only occurs with 3 characters (Link, Snake and Samus). It will be fixed in the next version.

The game hangs and returns this error whenever the player opens a keyhole with a key in Yoshi's mouth (example: Frosty Freezeland stage of The Princess Cliche).

I'm fairly certain this has something to do with keyhole.lua. Is there a way to fix this?

The last few times I've tested levels using this release, SMBX has crashed. I see for a brief moment the world map screen before the actual level opens up and I think the issue might be that I'm pressing a key during the time period that that screen is visible (usually < 1 second). This does get annoying though since if I hit a key accidentally as I'm about to start a level while that screen is still showing, the entire engine crashes

This doesn't seem to work on Windows XP, I can't figure out why. It loads up the launcher, but when I try to hit play episode it starts up SMBX 1.3.0.1 which I don't even have on my computer. It also doesn't load any lua codes when I start an episode, so I can't play a good chunk of the episodes out there, and it makes this just about useless since I already have another SMBX on my computer.

Another question: In order to use the new coloured Rinka's, and to customize the amount of boos in a boo circle, do you need lunalua?

Since this guy is one of my beta testers, I'll ask again on his befalf. Is 2.0 not supposed to work on XP?

Windows XP isn't supported anymore for a looong time, so I think MarioKirby should switch to at least Windows 7 anyway.
