Are you going to have a custom sprite for Mario too?

For the player it is impossible to collect all the coins in that arrow, unless they're using flight. Seeing as the first leaf in the level doesn't appear until the player gets to the checkpoint, I suggest you make it a wee bit smaller, maybe pointing diagonally downward. Or just make a trail of coins, and take the arrow's tip away entirely.
yes I'm aware of that. this was done on purpose

and @FanofSMBX because I globally replaced the checkpoint with something else lol

I was going to submit this thing to the latest contest. Too bad procrastination got me as always (And the fact I could not stop playing Xillia 2 did not help one bit...)
What I wanted to show the most was the background. Could you guys give me feedback? I dunno if I over-did it with the gradients.

The background looks fantastic! That line that's kind of disconnected from the spinning thing bothers me a bit, though. Can't tell too much about the gameplay from here, either. Although, again, the graphics look downright amazing.

I started with SMBX recently, and this is the first level I made with it (just used PGE to take the screenshot). I used some other engines so I have a basic knowledge about level design.

For a first level, it looks very good and contest worthy.

Looks like I'm now fully playable in all 7 forms.

SquishyRex player confirmed!

Seriously, this looks very nice and I'm really curious as of how he will obtain different forms like power ups from it.

Yes, yes it is. :)

Basically I'm just a Mario reskin. Also, due to the player size limits, my feet do stick into the ground, but it's not something you'll really notice once playing.

This sizable reminds me the tileset of SMB2.

Nice work, Rex Squishy!

Looks very nice, but it uses too many different tilesets imo. Could be only me of course.

Looks pretty good, but I still can't deal with that lava touching the grass... Anyway, good work.

Two tilesets aren't that many.
