As usually prior to XY, we always got a variety of new Pokemon, but ever since XY gave us 69 it starts to lack a lot on specific types.
An example would be, if you were to choose only Ground types from gen 6 the only options are Diggersby and Zygarde.
Additionally, if you see the list we are lacking Poison, Dark, and Ice types this generation which isn't a good sign as you'll have very limited choices if you were to focus on one generation and a type at the same time.
I feel like they're now taking the "Quality > Quantity" thing as if they were scared of giving us over 100 each gen, especially the now those 81, will bring us up to 802.
Meaning there's only 198 spaces to reach up to 1000, but this seems to be something that's not interesting in the Pokemon community.
As people want our older, bigger variety, not our new, small, lacking, limited amount.
What's also bad is fact that most of the new Pokemon are standalone, most of those Pokemon could've gotten another stage which I find to be weird.
Edit: This may not be the whole dex but I'm not sure what will happen when Serebii reveals the pokedex.
Apparently gamefreak did scrub out some data and when you think of it some of it looks incomplete, besides weren't the fossils for this gen teased in a trailer?
So I think the better time to find out if these are truly all of the Pokemon and alolan forms, would be Serebii revealing the amount.
Also, it's strange that they scrubbed out the story and coding, but they didn't scrub the images.
