Redigit's original forum, SuperMarioBrothers.org, got taken down by Nintendo.

Strange that they didn't take this one down then.

Can you make the Social Media Team colour less saturated? It sticks out against every other colour on the website in a slightly painful way.

Yeah it's pretty bad like the LJ color was. Maybe a darker pink or light purple would be better.

What does having a Social Media Team group add anyway? It doesn't seem to have any significance on the forums (unless there's some private forum for discussion, which in the case of the SMBX2 development team was moved elsewhere anyway and the Developer Discussion forum is now dead)

Maybe the group was added so people are more interested in joining the social media team since past experiences (level judges, who i n c i d e n t a l l y had the same color) have shown that all people really want is to be above the average user so we're repurposing that idea, even though its cheap and dirty, to get more people to want to join the social media team?
Not that that's the case or anything.

I agree with Enjl, the Social Media Team color is wayyy to saturated and I think making it darker would help a lot.
Edit: Also, the exact same problem can be said about the dev team colors.

As someone with the dev colour, I'd also like to request a colour change. It's important when choosing text colours to make sure they're readable. The social media team and dev team colours are absolutely not with this forum's styling. Can they be adjusted for something less eye-straining?

I heard the reason for the colours is tradition (old dev colour used to be orange or something), but choosing tradition over sensible design is a rather unintuitive move. Would be nice to get an official response from the admins.
Also I should append that using f.lux or similar software increases the harshness of the colours and causes them (Social Media & Dev) to look roughly the same.

BTW, when can we expect the month of January thread to go up? It would normally be up by this time? Maybe it will be a year of 2018 instead?

I'd suggest having the usergroups without colors so everyone can check their respective members which serves as a sufficient honorable mention.

The dev team having a colour makes sense cause people will instantly know if an actual dev responded to their query without having to detour down into the legend.

How do you even get put into these special usergroups? Is it random? Are there elections? Do you have to be popular and an expert with SMBX? With the new groups that recently appeared, it seems like it is random.

Yeah. Random.

So basically, to get into a group, you have to do something that would benefit that group.
So if you were to, for example, create a really awesome episode, you'd have a chance to be put into the level designers group?
Just for future reference, what are the requirements to be put into each group?

Level Designers: Used to be by application (any time) but now the group is dead and its leaders have been inactive.
Game Masters: Not really relevant anymore since Mafia and FF&R have both been archived.
Moderators: Accept applications periodically. Dependable and responsible users are selected by the other staff.
Admins: Often were mods that were promoted.
Social Media Team: Applications (not sure if they're still open, possibly).
Dev. Team: People involved with the development of SMBX2. Not a formal application process. People who have demonstrated a strong knowledge of LunaLua are usually invited or approach a notable member of the team.

Well, looks like I won't get into any of them anytime soon, xD
I even sent a level reviewer application a few days ago, but that never got answered.
Where you say the "other staff", does that include every other mod, admin etc.?

Yes, this is saying "new staff are chosen by the already existing staff". But bear in mind that since April 2015, all new mods except Spinda have been chosen through applications (which are rare).

That's is quite interesting. Are there any groups on here I even have a slight chance of getting into? If not, then no worries of course.
