I was using PGE+LunaLua-modified SMBX and now trying to move on to 2.0 because that is what I would want people to play my episode with. Did not find anything with search so here goes...
For some reason the hardcoded graphics that I'm using to hide the HUD are not working. I have the files in my Worlds\Super Mario Enigmatic 2 -folder, but the HUD is not replaced when I play the episode from the launcher.
Is this something that's still in development (because it works with SMBX 1.3 + Luna) or am I doing something wrong?
And then there is this:
Still in development?

Your problem woth hardcoded graphics is because this Beta uses an older version of LunaLua. A new Beta is coming fairly soon that is much updated. I can't remember exactly, but this might be the cause of the second error too, which is from particles.lua being unable to load the rain effect.

Thanks, I'll continue with the PGE+Luna-modified SMBX for the time being.

Just finished this up actually, we've got a neat little graphical profiler so we can analyse what the code is doing as it runs, and where any lag is coming from:

Is that PGE thing where you can test levels in the legacy editor without having it open separately already working?
Also, are solid-top slopes a planned addition (or at least already possible through LunaLua codes)? That's one thing I've always wanted but forgot to ask about.

Yep, that's already a thing and working pretty smoothly.

Nice, how much still has to be done before SMBX 2.0 can be released?

Patience is the key. I really want it too, but they need time.

There's a bit more to go, but there has been a lot of progress recently. I think you'll all be pleasantly surprised when it does get released.

I hope so, because I can't wait. I hope the Lua will not be needed in order to place starmans etc. in full release?

You can place down all character blocks and new npcs in PGE by default.

Welp. A new UI, a new thing to get used to. Glad there is still the legacy editor though, I still would've preferred a UI that was just like the ol' SMBX, or at least close to it.
I tried opening a 1.3.0.1 level in the new editor and tested it, and, well it crashed the first test window and opened another one, which worked fine, don't know if that's an issue or if it was intended.

You can make PGE look like the SMBX editor, I just don't remember how.

You go to application settings in "useful tools". Then go to "view". Finally, change the theme.
Also, I recommend testing in 1.3.0.1 instead.

Menu "Help" -> "Classic view" (SMBX-like gui).
Same way to return back to modern view.

It's not that I'm impatient, I just want to be able to get a bit more of an idea of when to expect it, even if it isn't a date.

I feel the same as you, but it's better stop asking this. Horikawa made release date promises in the past and never was able to
achieve them. If we continue asking, we will more likely get a possible release date that will never happen.

The PGE engine is still incomplete, so you'll have to test using the "Test in SMBX (LunaDLL required)" option.

Sharing my very own opinion, I find 2.0 horrible, honestly.
I'll stay with 1.3.0.1

It's still in beta. When it releases, it won't be as horrible as you're finding it now.
