I remember you and Enjl saying that. but I honestly would love Venus Ice Plants and Ice bros... (honestly, a second without harm to the player might be best as one of you said earlier). You also said (You as in someone on the dev team) that if it is in 1.4, then it will eventually be in 2.0. Is that not why the `Foo` is in the game already?The0x539 wrote:The number of NPCs we can add is a bit over 32 thousand, and considering we haven't even added 200 yet, the limit's not a concern. By the time we reached that ultimate limit, the PGE Engine would probably be ready to switch to anyway. A few people on the team, mainly myself, are...a bit opposed to a player freeze effect, but it's still a possibility. What do those other Piranha Plant variants do?
Using the LunaTester or pressing F5 doesn't work. SMBX2 crashes when I do it.The0x539 wrote:Press F5, or use LunaTester in the testing menu.Mr Briney wrote:Is there any way to test a level created in SMBX2?

That's the plan.Murphmario wrote:1. Will the new NPCs get death effects, like with the 1.3. NPCs?
Doing something along the lines of the important parts of that feature is something we want to do. For most overworld stuff, though, it'd be better to just add more tiles/sceneries/levels, same for BGOs and even potentially blocks. NPCs and functional blocks, though, absolutely on the radar.Murphmario wrote:2. Could the extended graphics feature from 1.4.3 be added? It's pretty cool, and would benefit the community.

Yes. It was, judging from the development channel on Discord.thehelmetguy1 wrote:So Megan was made as a joke?

Okay. Glad to hear Snake will be getting an overhaul. He's actually pretty fun to use in levels designed around him, like the demo level. But in normal levels he's rather...subpar. I was planning on making him one of the "main characters" of my current project, but the amount of stuff I'd have to change to accommodate him and his low jump height and giving him ways to avoid being spotted (especially by Birdos and Magikoopas, noooooo) would require making a game that's too easy for the other characters. My solution was to give every world an optional "Stealth Level" that only Snake could do. I loved the features in the demo level, like the security cameras spawning different NPCs, that I wanted to study the level's code to do something similar, but...depending on how much he'll change, maybe I'll hold off on my Snake levels for now and work on different parts of my game.Hoeloe wrote:Most characters will be getting some tweaks. Some like Snake will be getting complete overhauls like the one Bowser had. The main reason this is still beta is so we can change things like this (that would lose compatibility with levels already designed for these characters).
It's actually the PGE tester that doesn't load correctly, but since it's ALL in the SAME drop-down MENU...too easily confused as all the SAME BLOODY THING.Spinda wrote:what kind of error message do you get upon crashing?
Also, after the initial startup the lunatester loads levels really quickly.

Also remember you can just hit F5, rather than rooting through menus.The0x539 wrote:Amyrakunejo wrote:It's actually the PGE tester that doesn't load correctly, but since it's ALL in the SAME drop-down MENU...too easily confused as all the SAME BLOODY THING.what kind of error message do you get upon crashing?

This is Beta 4. Happy?
To be honest...Hoeloe wrote:
