I'd like player freeze effects, partially for some variety. If the freezing doesn't hurt you right away, it's in a way actually weaker than a normal attack! If it hurts you right away, then it's more dangerous. If you don't stay frozen suspended in mid-air (some games do that) then getting frozen over a pit is something to avoid. Cold water that freezes you could be a thing that could be probably scripted easier once the freeze effect is already there.
Anyway, I have a question: Will any of the "new" characters (Rosalina, Klonoa, Bowser, Juni, etc.) have any changes in Beta 4 or any other planned down the line? I heard Bowser's "Super Mushroom" form glitch will be fixed. But I remember when Bowser had rotating Goomba barriers and stuff, so the characters have changed before.

Most characters will be getting some tweaks. Some like Snake will be getting complete overhauls like the one Bowser had. The main reason this is still beta is so we can change things like this (that would lose compatibility with levels already designed for these characters).

I have three questions:
1. Will the new NPCs get death effects, like with the 1.3. NPCs?
2. Could the extended graphics feature from 1.4.3 be added? It's pretty cool, and would benefit the community.
3. Who or what is Megan? I'm looking for a serious answer here.

Doing something along the lines of the important parts of that feature is something we want to do. For most overworld stuff, though, it'd be better to just add more tiles/sceneries/levels, same for BGOs and even potentially blocks. NPCs and functional blocks, though, absolutely on the radar.

I've also tried the Luna Tester and it's just not up to snuff.
Crashes too often, or doesn't start up at all.
But it's fine really; I'd rather just have PGE running and SMBX, that way I can edit levels and test them by just switching windows.

what kind of error message do you get upon crashing?
Also, after the initial startup the lunatester loads levels really quickly.

Okay. Glad to hear Snake will be getting an overhaul. He's actually pretty fun to use in levels designed around him, like the demo level. But in normal levels he's rather...subpar. I was planning on making him one of the "main characters" of my current project, but the amount of stuff I'd have to change to accommodate him and his low jump height and giving him ways to avoid being spotted (especially by Birdos and Magikoopas, noooooo) would require making a game that's too easy for the other characters. My solution was to give every world an optional "Stealth Level" that only Snake could do. I loved the features in the demo level, like the security cameras spawning different NPCs, that I wanted to study the level's code to do something similar, but...depending on how much he'll change, maybe I'll hold off on my Snake levels for now and work on different parts of my game.

Working test method:
Run PGE
Run SMBX
Switch between windows, cross-save files.
Why?
Hardware I haven't the money to replace/upgrade. Happy!? Not even remotely but that's my problem and mine alone, or so I have learned.
