You should copy and paste the text, since screenshots are not allowed.

(If you're sending them to the host only an exception can be made though)
I want to touch upon this more, and I believe it has already been said by Pseudo, and I also can't express this more:

If you are a dead player, you may not reveal anything about the current ongoing game. This includes screenshots, chat logs, or generally helping other players out. If someone does reveal information while they are dead, please do not hesitate to report it, as leaving these things unchecked can seriously disrupt a game. If you are caught cheating in this manner, you will be punished for it, no exceptions.

I'm looking for 2 or 3 backup players, just in case.

You might want to revive the player signups for that

There's an evident lack of transparency in terms of explaining game rules and game mechanics. I'm working on a basic how-to-play guide too, so new players will hopefully feel less intimidated to join and contribute. Granted, people will always have to read and examine the mechanics of their role (does a miller know he is miller, does a silencer's ability work for the day only etc.) but if a person doesn't know that power usage is optional and that day lynching is also optional, that should be mentioned somewhere (as in, the Rules thread).

Invitation to The Mafia Championship - Season 4

Hi guys! It's that time of year again.

The 4th season of The Mafia Championship is here. Last year you were repped by Zeldamaster -- who was then replaced by Pseudo.

I was hoping that maybe you guys would be interested in sending a representative again this year.

More information here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1E9x ... 5p4W4/edit

Cliffs:
- 150 communities will be participating -- hopefully you will be amongst those
- The setup this year: 15-man Mountainous (3 Mafia Goons vs. 12 Vanilla Townies)
- Qualifiers take place during May and June. So your rep would just need to have 2-3 weeks where they could play during either of those months (they play in just one qualifying game at whatever time suits them best).
- Your rep can choose between 12, 36, 48 or 72 hour Day Phases
- Your rep needs to make a minimum of 10 posts per Day Phase
- The activity will be much higher than what you're used to - expect maybe 500 posts per day the first few days
- Deadline for deciding on a rep/volunteering: April 23

Well, I just started playing a game at a different place (not a mafia-excluse place) and they always start with a day phase and random accusations are thrown on Day 1 and much more posts are made a day. And guess what, we lynched innocents the first three days only due to pointless bandwagoning and people changing their votes thousands of times and not following a consistent logic. On the third day people massclaimed, I was upvoted due to showing not much activity (come on, busy with college and playing here too), then I also had to claim, and ultimately someone inactive and unclaimed was lynched.

And that's how it works on the big stages like Epicmafia and Mafiascum too, I guess.

Which site, out of curiosity?

Is there any specific date it starts in May? I won't be available until the 19th but I'm still interested

All Mondays. So you could choose, for example, May 22 and May 29.

Giant in the Playground. Secret identity, please don't tell anyone there.

Also, if you're not busy with other stuff, are you also interested playing here?

Oh, that sounds like it would work very well for me. I might end up giving it a go, then, if the people here would have me do so

Reposting here from M38:
Hey guys, just for future reference, you don't need to be so hostile with your posts. It's just a game, and there is no need for name-calling and getting overly aggressive. I've been seeing a lot of rather hostile messages being sent here, on Discord, and through DMs/PMs. While playing aggressively is quite fine and a viable tactic, you don't need to act out this aggression towards specific players for their behavior or otherwise. It is understandable to be frustrated towards your teammates or other players, but you do not need to take this frustration out on them, and if you have an issue with someone specifically, do not hesitate to bring it to a gamemaster (Pseudo or I). This is supposed to be a fun game and should not be a place to vent anger onto people, hopefully we can adjust to that.
On top of that, if there is ever another mystery game, or some game that relies on timing in particular, please do not meta-game. While hosts should do everything in their power to prevent potential meta-game scenarios (like a player being able to claim an innocent role based on the times they were online), not every instance can be particularly avoided. It is not honorable or polite to not only the host but to the other players if you abuse something like this, and it can show a lack of skill if you rely on a meta-game tactic to get people to trust you. We all come from different timezones, but that does not necessarily mean you should abuse yours for your own benefit, as that can inherently ruin the game for everyone involved who actually have to put effort into persuading or getting information out of people. While I am not blaming anyone in particular for this, as it was the fault of the host this time around, I would like to point to M38 as an example of this meta-gaming, and generally what you should not do, whether you are presented with the opportunity to or not.

We try to provide a fun and exciting Mafia experience here, but we need the players' full cooperation to enrich that experience.

What does "Meta-gaming" even mean?

Metagaming refers to gathering evidence via things that happened outside the scope of the Mafia gameplay itself, for example Shroom's claims that he must be a regular townsperson because he did not appear to be online during the setup phase.

Hmmm... I think Megar, Danny or ZM could do this.

For what it's worth, "not being online" can be faked by hiding one's online status.
