By the way, I will be doing a few races as well, but sadly can't stay for long.

I'll try to make it this time! I haven't had much success with my own problem, but I've found numerous places that state a bug with 8 where if someone disconnects, it confuses the game and drops the whole room. That said, I have had lucky times where I could complete several races in a row, and I can still play 7 normally, so I'm thinking of testing my luck with this. If problems persist, I'll back out so as not to ruin anyone else's experience.

The problem currently with Mario Kart Online is that if someone drops out of the room before they vote a course, the game won't acknowledge that there should be 1 less vote. For example, if there are 12 players voting and one leaves, the game still thinks 12 players are in the room. So when only 11 players vote and a 12th player does not exist, the game freaks out and disconnects.

This shouldn't be as big of an issue in a tournament as everyone is there to play and not randomly leave.

For people confused about 32 races, it was either that or 16. You can't go anywhere in between. 16 races barely lasted us an hour so I think 32 will be fine.

That's what I've read, but I'm actually disconnecting more often while spectating or during my first race in a set than I am during the voting process. I'll see people just frozen stiff on random parts of the track, and it's actually quite eerie. I have no idea if it's the same problem or not, but if it isn't, I don't know how else to explain how 7 and all other online functions work well.

Going off what you said, my hope is that since we're a small group and we're probably not gonna drop out willingly (unless someone's connection hiccups), we should be fine.

That Shy Guys Fall match was intense! Me and FireMario were neck and neck for 1st place and I ended up getting blue shelled! Man!

Ugh, that Mario GBA Circuit was awful! I should have won. Oh well!

Well, I got to stay connected for one full race. With my luck, that's a point of pride. Sorry about that! Maybe I'll have this figured out next week.
