W1- Mush Mush Island
W2 Whirled Whirled West
W3 Shipwreck Shore
W4 Forgotten Swampland
W5 Decessus Ice
W6 Mountain Clouds
W7 Mera Mera Island

W3 is connected to the bottom of W2
Also W7 has no border, so I couldnt add it to the big screenshot

Ah, I see, I'm still trying to guess what world 8 is.

World 3 was scrapped. It'll return as the new W8. There was never a 9th, but there is a secret beta version of the ice world somewhere on the map :>
I use the oiginal map, never heard of mera mera island though! World nine was he lava one below the cave world 3!

Yeah World 3 was originally a cave. But when I even back during the original days, I grew distasteful towards the levels. From my own to the submitted ones. So, since I had no possible way to make 3-6 absolutely unique and fun cave-style levels, I decided to scrap it entirely. I put a focus more on the quality of levels that I have right now, rather than level counts and generic world organizations. On my next day off, or whenever I stop being lazy, I'll sit down and redo the entire introduction for the game. As I noticed, forcing exposition down the player's throat isnt fun...at all. So, I will take a Secret of Mana approach, although cliche in these times, and introduce a vague "legend" that just HAPPENS to come true. After that, the game proceeds on its own via boss encounters.

But, assuming everything flows as planned, I am imagining a release time-frame of late summer. Once World 9 gets under development though...Superior and I will be busting serious ass to get these levels as nice (and bat-shit hard). Right now, the only major thing that is keeping me from this is Squishy redoing all of the current Dry Guys (which will be released eventually in his pack, no worries), and my laziness to make a story-line for the game. Also tid-bit, with Dark Onion's help some key levels have been entirely replaced. So be sure to keep an eye out in future screenshots of progress next Tuesday :>

Edit: Also PGE was what allowed me to make that big screenshot. I intentionally made it so that you wouldn't see the paths. I find the adventure lies in the mystery on where you'll go next. However I managed to forget to remove castles and pipes. So, you can guess what goes where...

So sorry for the lack of posts as of late. Right now I a bouncing between two jobs so...I haven't had time to do pretty much anything but eat, shit, and work. Sleep...maybe. But rest assured, Superior is keeping things flowing and Squishy almost has SDG's graphics replacements taken care of.

Be sure to meld the lava correctly with the rest of the tileset. It doesn't look all too hot when it animates and abruptly stops at a corner.

After a huge haitus of like NO progress by me, I have 2 things to report. I finally got the revamped graphics for (all) of SDG's custom npcs. And lastly...Superior, my co-designer- seems to have gotten a virus. So this'll set progress back a bit. Sorry to say, but I guess I wont be able to release SDG this summer...

Well now that I have SDG's revamped graphics I can get back to work. Starting with 8-1, the only ghost house in the entire game.
Heres a preview, showing only Section 1 for now. Music Choice: La Dense Macabre - Shovel Knight

Thanks. Given the sheer importance to the storyline and the fact I am very critical of Ghost houses...this'll take a long time to ensure it comes out the right way.

Well 8-1 "Soul Collector's Manor" is nearly complete. I consider this one level to be way past hard for even World-8 Difficulty standards. So..beware, even I fear this level. Its about halfway done, and once its boss is taken care of this'll mark one of SDG hardest levels (to design) done. 2-C "Suna Suna Castle" and World 6's boss need to be redone, then all that remains is the remainder of World 8. If I could get some help or inspiration on a sand-based dungeon, that'd be swell. @Anybody

A sand-based Dungeon...hmm.. Well, what about a Dungeon/Tower that you must climb as it sinks into a quicksand pit. Basically a "Rising Lava" castle but using quicksand instead. Effectively it can still kill you, but also hamper your progress if you get stuck in it as the castle sinks. I don't know if this has a Boss at the end of it, but how about something like Mummipokey from NSMBDS? It would tie in with the sand theme, and is practically part of the undead theme you're going for. There are graphics for it already as well, so there's that.

Also King Bones is nearly finished.

Good suggestion, ill look it up. And it might have a boss, depends how lazy I am when I make the level.
Also, do you have some extra time this weekend? I have a few more requests for Soul collector, namely battle-based npcs to use with him.

I'm not sure if I will. I think I'm supposed to be doing a few things for work and put in a tax return, but send me your ideas and I'll see what I can do.
