I'm expecting 2019 to be good, because of Streets of Rage 4 must be good
Expecting a year to be good only because of a game doesn't make that much sense.

The good, the bad and the expectations for the game industry (and politics as well).
Good things in 2018
- Nintendo Switch is selling well (outsold liftime sales for the Xbox, Gamecube and Japanese sales for PS4 (excluding PS4 Pro) after less than 2 years on the market. Also fastest selling console for the 8th Gen)
- Some great games released
- Minecraft Update Aquatic
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition finally releases on Switch
- Hytale Announced
- Sony changes their stance on crossplay
- AAA crash
- Some Progessives have been elected for US Government (I.E ALexandria Ocasio Cortez)
- Republicans lost the house
Bad things in 2018
- Nintendo Switch Online
- EA, Blizzard, Activision and Bethesda
- Microtransactions still exist
- RIP Minecraft Console Edition
- Playstation Classic
- Soulja Boy
- China's Censorship
- Mainstream Media is still demonising video games
- Snowflakes forces Nintendo to remove Mr Game and Watch animations because they depict Native Americans
- Donald Trump is still US president
- Theresa May is still Prime Minister
- Brexit, although...
- Article 13
- Jiro Bolsonaro
- Mid-term elections were rigged
- Still no SMBX2 beta 4
Expectations in 2019
- Minecraft Village and Pillage
- Another Minecraft Update later
- Minecraft Dungeons
- Bedrock Edition comes to PS4 (even if this is the final nail in the coffin for Console Edition)
- SNES games come Switch Online at the very least
- Smaller companies get a chance to grow due to AAA crash
- Therefore more interesting games will get more attention
- SMBX2 beta 4
- Bernie Sanders announces Presidential Campaign

It has been months since I posted my latest comment on these fórums, but next year I expect to be more active as I want to make some levels. On November I got a new computer because my old one had problems and I had made 3 new levels. But when I was about to move them to my new computer, it stopped working so I lost them. This demoralized me a lot so that's why I am so inactive right now.
For other things though, I think this year has been mostly good, both for myself and for the rest of the world.
However i have no clue how 2019 Will be because I Will go to university on September. As for the rest of the world, I think that economically it Will continue being good but politically it will get worse, (specially with Jair Bolsonaro, China-EEUU, VOX, and the likes). I'll stop it there, as this isn't a politics fórum.

I agree.
Many great things could happen in a year to say it's good so I think it's not worth to mention just one

2018 was probably the worst year of my life: school stress, family problems and friendship problems lead to depression, anxiety, self-doubt and even some dark thoughts. However, on the internet this has probably been the best year for me, mostly because of getting online friends, finding new forums/websites (like this one), etc. I hope next year will be better.

The EP elections are over, and it seems that EPP and S&D lost seats but the ALDE group gained some, thus they'll be able to maintain their majority.
A few shifts might happen among parties, such as Hungary's Fidesz moving to one of the right-wing groups.
Ultranationalists and eurosceptic populists are stronger but are far from becoming a majority and the EPP (center-right) is not looking forward to a coalition with them.
There was also a huge Green wave, especially in Germany, where they overtook the Social Democrats.
The governing parties are most likely staying the same or if not, the only change will probably be the addition of the Greens/EFA/Pirates group, as GUE-NGL disagrees a lot with ALDE and EPP and right-wing parties are out of the question in a coalition.

Green was voted most by young people and intellectuals. They were the strongest by a LANDSLIDE among first-time voters (such as myself )
AfD was voted most by old men, low-educated, and Easterners.

The Brexit party won in the UK, and Lib Dems came second.

Today after several rumours the body of the famous streamer and Nintendo lover and crazy reactor was found dead. Etika had tons of followers who loved him and made him a walking meme. Some fractions of his streams were reuploaded in Youtube and you probably saw them before without knowing.
Another victim of suicide.
Volare Via Etika.

Even though I wasn't really a fan of Etika, the whole thing just hurts to just think about it. Etika was a wonderful youtuber from what I heard, and would always interact with his fans. I have a lot of respect for Etika, and my heart goes out to his family and friends, even if I barely knew anything about him and yet never met him. The YouTube community won't be the same without him. R.I.P. Etika, we are going to miss you, especially the joy con bois.

I just found out this morning that he was missing. I didn't totally follow him but I was a fan, and I had heard that a body was found that could've been his. I knew that he was going through some crazy shit but never would I have thought he'd actually go through with it...
When I heard it was him, I was speechless. I went back and watched his "I'm Sorry" video from before he went missing, and it was heartbreaking. He basically put up a suicide note online. I wish he had gotten the help he needed... his legacy won't be forgotten.

He will never get to see the last Smash fighters...
He'll never get to play the next Deltarune chapters...
Or play the new Animal Crossing...
Rest in peace Etika, though his final decision may not be the best in our eyes,
I'm sure he's in a much better place right now, may he adore all the new games up wherever he is...
That's all I have to say, Desmond was a great person who made people happy and brightened up their day.

Today's the "Friday the 13th" where we get a Full Moon tonight *! Just to show that not all Friday the 13th days are not that bad! ^^"
*That's a once in a long while event! We haven't gotten a full moon on a Friday the 13th day since in 2000!
