just in case you have not been aware, the difficulty of this episode is not representative for the Mario franchise. It is on the same level as "Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels".

Super Mario Bros 0. is a prequel to the original Super Mario Bros. The princess has supposedly been kidnapped for the very first time, and it's up to Mario and Luigi to save her! Journey through an early Mushroom Kingdom with its strange brick-like ground and eyeless mushrooms in this comfy old-school style episode.
Features:
- 64 total levels
- Many secret worlds to discover
- Playable Mario and Luigi (complete with retro outfit colors)
- Retro one-way scrolling
- All-new custom tilesets and NPC graphics
- A pretty nice-looking world map (with fairly short paths for your convenience)
- SMB1 soundtrack remixes, including different variations of the overworld theme for different worlds
- Collectable stars found at the end of each world (along with rewards for finding them)
Screenshots:
Misc notes:
- All credits for custom assets and level design go to myself (with much inspiration from the real Mario games, of course).
- Co-op mode is playable, but the one-way scrolling can make it rather buggy, and the episode was generally designed with single-player mode in mind, so tread with caution.

Nice Episode, I'm currently at 8-4 because this episode is hard as heck, but I enjoy a good challenge. I like the graphics also, they are simplistic, yet they look very nice. One minor thing that annoys me though is the fact that you have to walk all the way back to world 1 to get to the mushroom house with the powerups. Also, in world 8, you can get partially softlocked if the lakitus die by their own bombs, forcing you to restart. Apart from that, it's great!
Rating - 8.5/10

This is an interesting episode with new gimmicks every level, while maintaining the original Super Mario Bros. feel. Graphics are great and all-new, levels get difficult quickly but that's what makes it fun! It's not perfect, but it strives to be it's best with it's unique level design.
I give it a 9/10.

Can someone show me all of the softlocks? Just curious, I'd like to keep them in mind so I can fix them in the editor before I move on.

very easy to get stuck in D‐2 if you run out of throw blocks

Fairly certain that's an issue with the SMBX engine in general, not just this episode

D-2 level is humanly impossible without using "shadowstar" cheat code, there is not enough ice bricks to destroy the normal ones, best way would be to use generator feature so the ice bricks spawn endlessly
