I didn't force you to allow it. You told me you were not accepting submissions from people who used it without giving me any heads up at all.TLtimelord wrote:Well I'm forced to allow mediafire again.

I don't think it would be unfair, because it's not truly disallowing them from submitting to the contest. They do have to take an extra five minutes to make a new account, perhaps, but maybe not even that if they already have google drive (and if they have a youtube account, then they do).Quill wrote:it would be unfair to not accept submissions from people who use mediafire, as a significant amount of people still use it.

Why exactly would there be a rule against that?MarioRPGExpert93 wrote:Idiot question: Is graphics made with other 16-bit/32-bit color palettes allowed (32-bit Example: GBA, PSX, 3DO), or just SNES colors?
That's certainly one way to put it. Makes sense though. I use mediafire quite often and I've not had a problem with it since I started using it 4 years ago but I know that LOADS of people have problems with mediafire regardless. Lads, the last thing we need is for his computer to get f*cked six ways all at once while a contest is going. I suggest we listen to him.rockythechao wrote:Hey, everyone who's pushing for Mediafire: say you opened up a restaurant but told the customers, "oh, tables are too much of a hassle, you can eat off the floor. What? Germs? Nonsense, I eat off the floor all the time and I don't get sick. If you're really that worried about it, you can bring a blanket or a tray or something." How long do you think it'd take before Gordon Ramsay showed up with his TV crew?
I totally agree with you, actually. I've been using SMBX since 1.2 and I can't get used to PGE for the life of me.Yoshi678 wrote:I've been tossing a few ideas back and forth through my mind for a level to create. I feel as though my life would be easier if I knew how to work PGE. I just can't figure it out for the life of me. I've been using the legacy editor since 2008, 2009 when I was around 8 years old so only just recently learning about PGE, It confuses me, plain and simple. Anyway, how are the rest of you doing with the contest?
I've heard many great things about PGE that seem to render the legacy editor rather obsolete, such as it's ability to utilise large blocks. For my current project (Not the contest) I just resumed making it and finish world 5's fortess out of what'll probably be 9 or 10 worlds. I'm trying to make a level using SMB3 airship tiles which are a damn nightmare to use in Legacy because all the ones I see are built to work with PGE and it's not the end of the world but still pretty damn irritating.Mr Briney wrote:And why won't you use the legacy editor if you're used to it?
You used one for 5 minutes and decided it wasn't good because you weren't used to it.perhaps wrote:in a similar boat, never tried pge for like 5 minutes and then decided legacy was better, still havent given pge much of a chance. in other news, i have literally no idea how to execute my level without it being hot garbage
Try PGE. PGE has many features that makes it very useful than the legacy editor. The reason why I told to Yoshi678 to use the legacy editor because learning PGE takes time. For me, it took 2-3 months. And this contest ends after a month, so I just recommended him to use the legacy editor.perhaps wrote:in a similar boat, never tried pge for like 5 minutes and then decided legacy was better, still havent given pge much of a chance.
We're the same!in other news, i have literally no idea how to execute my level without it being hot garbage
Well lad, I think we can all agree that hot garbage is much better than a steaming pile of stinky dog sh!t which some of the entries will surely be. I mean, not to be harsh but if you place dead last or well, anywhere in tier 1 there's probably a reason behind it. No joke levels here either so last place will most likely be a REAL stinker.perhaps wrote:in other news, i have literally no idea how to execute my level without it being hot garbage
