This seems like a very great project! Sadly, it's 38A, and I think it could do more things using the new and improved 2.0, but besides that everything seems great! I'm glad all the graphics are changing to NSMB, since before it looked very uncanny like everyone said. I say you should most likely make a GFX pack for your collection of HD NSMB graphics for NPCs and Mario and such. Also a sound pack for the NSMB sounds you have made, which I swear there already was one, but I cannot find it for the life of me.

why sad? Is that supposed to deprecate 38A? Did you even think of whether the concept of this project would be equally executable in X2 as of now? What's the problem with it being 38A? Granted I know the part about physics and other little bugs but that doesn't make playing things on 38A completely unenjoyable? (EDIT: I've been told that 1.4.5 even has better physics now.)

For the record, I used to slander the engine a lot like a year ago, mostly aiming at its creator rather than its users, but still I was wrong and unjustful with that.

A port to X2 would be really cool no doubt, but it would only happen at the creator's choice (or permission).

I agree on the gfx pack part, though it would be mostly equivalent to just copy the sprites from the episode folder once it's out.

(by the way this project is not dead)

How are you sure? Is there any place where the progress is showed off?
