But there isn't much discussion right now. Why would it simply start suddenly.

Someone just comes around and begins talking about the level. That's how discussions start.
And man, I didn't expect this topic to take off that quickly. Within the space of two days we're already over 100 replies and 1000 views.

That's a pretty critical assumption since nothing is limiting discussion right now. What makes you think people will suddenly have more interest in discussing levels if your crazy scheme is successful?

That's how every mistake ever starts.
If you can't give any explicit reasons as to why it'd work, why would we go for it in the first place?

"Let's try it out and see" would be a lot of work to try out a plan like this and you don't even have the Admins, GMs, or all but, like, 4 people in the community on board. I would be willing to go through with Marina's idea with the checkmark system idea, but no further than that (modifications to the Levels forum, etc.). I agree with Spinda, I think your idea would be a big mistake

I would like to make it clear that we're very unlikely to get rid of the level categories.

I think I agree with PixelPest. The current system doesn't really need modifications, apart from GETTING MORE JUDGES. With 7 members on the team, I'm not surprised that there hasn't been much activity.
Why is that, though? I have seen lots of talented regular users in the Levels subforum posting great reviews. Why don't more people try to apply?

Nothing else is going to change either, right?

There are three possible situations that I can think of:
- They don't think that they have the time to commit to being a Level Judge or they don't expect to be around for long enough to make it worthwhile.
- They simply don't believe they are good enough.
- Although their reviews look good to you, the Level Judges might see something critical missing.
Although yes, there are some people that I think should apply (although I will not name names)

I will simply say this to move things forward.
Encourage more people to become level judges, or use Marina's idea.

Very little or nothing. Most of these big disputes kind of just fizzle out after a week or so (often even less)

^ weak link is right
nothing ever gets done about anything around here, so these talks are only good for banter and bring to light this forum's death
