Anyone remember Nightblade?

Postby Terakonin » Sat Nov 08, 2014 6:36 pm

Hello, I'm Terakonin. About three years ago I had an account on the original SMBX forums called Nightblade. When all the SMBX/SMBR drama went down I slowly stopped visiting the site. However I am now a much more mature person and am excited to be back. Can anyone give me a rundown on major events that have happened, like explaining the new admins?
Much appreciated.

OK, well first off, Joey has a "Story of SMBX" written somewhere that I'm too lazy to find, but here's basically what I can recall:

After the original forums went down, CaptainTrek opened his, which lasted 4 months. By this time, the admins of SMBX had gotten very irrational and banned essentially at first sight. After that, Trekweb went down, so everyone went to Knux's forums. There was a "new" SMBX (SMB:R/NSMBX) but it was crap, so the NSMBX forums went into existence as a normal SMBX forum. Eventually, Knux's and NSMBX proposed a merge which eventually failed. Then, another large SMBX forum which was quite different, Cloud's forum, proposed a merge with NSMBX, and it created the SMBX:Revived forum. Eventually, Knux decided to merge with the growing SMBX:R and we got this forum, run by Joey.

So, basically:

SMB.org
Trekweb
Knux's Forums
SMBX Revived
SMBX.org

SMB.org was run by Redigit
Trekweb was run by CaptainTrek
Knux's forums were run by Knux
SMBX Revived was run by all the admins (reghrhre, Cloud, Chad, Shade, and Raster)
SMBX.org is run by Joey

By the way, the NSMBX forum is reopening as well.

Hey! Welcome back to SMBX, I guess! I think I may remember your username (Nightblade) from the original forums.

And yeah, that's basically what's happened to the community over the past 4 years.

Also, after Trekweb closed, there was briefly another official (sanctioned by Redigit, like Trekweb) forum, bikcmp's forum. It didn't last very long though.

Hey Terrakion Terakonin, and welcome back to the SMBX community. A lot has happened since you left and the SMBX community has been through a lot of events, such as NSMBX closing down, and new episodes being released.

Basically, all of the old forums are reopening. SMBXR's open for business again as well, with a new theme.

Funny bc NSMBX is not even listed in there but okay.
