Maybe your PC can't completly handle the new version all too well. Make sure there is nothing running too strong at the background in your PC to prevent loading issues like having a Internet Browser open while playing/editing SMBX.

Normally I dnt have anything running in the background, I've put the version on a USB and played it on another faster PC (instead of a laptop) but the same problem still remained. I have to admit maybe I exaggerated when I said it took a lot longer, but in the previous version the transition time was like a second but now it like I have to wait 45-60 seconds.

What episode are you trying to load?

Uh, if you are playing it off a USB drive it will take longer to load because it has to transfer data from the USB to the CPU, which takes about 4-8 more seconds than it would off the harddrive.

This.
Anyway, try moving it to the program files directory where it can be accessed quickly

Enchlore: using 1.3.0.1 I've only played mega mario deluxe and new luigi bros
Xerx: at first I tried on the hard drive of my laptop, I then acknowledged my problem and as test I tried to play it on another computer in a disclosed location which would not let me transfer files so I was forced to play it of my USB. Besides I tried it with the previous version with the USB and it worked perfectly fine. =D
Koolkat: I have never tried this, but in general since no one is experiencing the same problem I think something went wrong with my download so ill do it again. But if the same problem arises again after this then I'll be sure to try that.
Thx guys my laptop is being repaired right now so I can't try these methods right away I'll get back to in about a week or so! :)

Don't use a USB drive! I think all the saving and loading of files ruined a USB drive I played SMBX off. Use a CD or DVD if you have one.

FanofSMBX, are you sure that SMBX might damage an USB drive? I'm worried, because I run SMBX (and every other PC game, for that matter) from an USB drive as well, and all my stuff is in the drive.

Are these episodes GFX-heavy? That might increase loading times, especially if you're playing from an USB drive. Custom playable characters can also make your game slower.

Enchlore: to be honest I don't kno what defines as 'gfx-heavy' but new luigi bros is made to look like yoshi's island ds and mega mario deluxe just looks like a normal episode... Well to me it does.
Also I dumped the USB idea it was a test to see if other PCs produce the same problem and it did for that computer I tested on, the two same things in both tries was the episode and the download, once I am thinking something went wrong with my particular download and I need to redownload the version.

By GFX-heavy, I'm asking if there are too many custom graphics in those episodes. As in, do the custom graphic folders contain too much image files? I'd say a number around 357 for each folder would be quite the lot.

You could also look for the original The Invasion by Redigit and see if it loads decently or not. I don't know if there's any available download for that episode today, but it doesn't have any custom graphics.

The many gfx isn't one of the sources of the lag, as they aren't really heavy in term of bites. Only if the are too many graphics with many frames, SMBX would lag (reason of why custom playables can lag SMBX). Also the custom music can do lag if there are too many.

When I was playing the actual levels it played completely smooth but after I have died or the level has finished I would see a black screen for 45-60 seconds before the world map showed up. Same for if I selected a level in the world map I would see a black screen before the level actually started. ( just my problem in a bit more detail)
