What's good everybody! I'm here to show off a sneak peak at the episode's new title screen. I made a whole menu and everything 8-).
The Video :)
Some things to note:
- This is my first time using the OBS recording software and I was too lazy to find editing software, let alone edit the video.
- The audio is painfully bad, but again this is the first time messing with OBS.
- The title theme you hear once the "PizzaNoob Presents" splash screen fades away is a theme I made in LMMS (You can't hear it as much because I really wanted to show off the current state of the menus I've created).
- The "Options" option is still being worked on so I spamed the "Jump" (Z) key just to prove you so.
- The two options in the Gallery menu are also still being worked on, so I have some text indicating that either one of the sub-menus are open.
- This isn't final, that should be obvious by now.
- I'm abit stuck on how I can fill the empty space in the first main menu (the one that changes as you change in character). I had one idea where it showcased your current progress (but that would require alot of SaveData nonsense) and another where it would simply show an icon symbolizing each option in said menu (but I'm not quite sure how I can change each icon without it just poping up and if something will break when I go to another option too quickly).
Other than that, what are your opinions? What ideas/advice/criticism do you have? Let me know, I'd be happy to take these into consideration while working on this. Hope you have a blessed day/evening
Oh yeah, fun fact, you can directly record the game while in fullscreen without pressing the "start recording button". Theres a Hotkey settings around somewhere, but im pretty sure its in settings
and then you set it to the least used key in the keyboard and done

Wow, I didn’t know that! I honestly thought that the downside of using OBS was that you had to press the start/stop recording button manually. Thanks for this info!

Although I haven't tried it myself yet, this episode looks amazing :) ! I watched the video you made, especially the main screen. I will definitely try it. I have a question: did you code all of those yourself from scratch or how?

Yeah, I coded that title screen all myself with some help from the SMBX2 docs… though it’s very unorganized. Soon when I release the world 1 demo coming sometime, I’ll make a public version that will have cleaner code and the ability to customize it. Anyways, the current demo is outdated but give it a shot if you want.

I can tell that making this was really challenging, even relying on the SMBX2 docs shows how complex the coding is. Great job handling all of that! I really enjoyed this version, especially how you mixed graphics from SMB3, SMW, and SMB2. Keep up the great work and good luck!
