Help with custom costume

Does anybody know if you can change the lua code of a character for a specific costume?

Im making a custom costume for Bowser, and the costume is smaller than the normal Bowser which makes it so that if I try to shoot either fire or iceblocks it makes them appear in the ground, I already have found the line I would need to change in the bowser.lua, but I couldnt find out how to change it only for this costume, can anybody help?
