Some The Conquest trivia for you nerds out there:
- The working title for the project was swampert
- The only levels not made by me are Buster Hill, Gentle Cloud Jumping and half of Freshwater Oasis, all of which were by Waddle
- It was originally more of a collab project but everyone was working on Betterified or other things. I was also working on Betterified, which is why 50 of the game's levels were made in 2024.
- Project development period is exactly 2 years to the day, June 13 2022 to June 13 2024, but I delayed release for a week while waiting for a SMBX2 patch.
- First thing I did for this project was make a
flow chart of the world map using draw.io from which the level names were derives (1-L1, 2-B1, etc). This map barely changed during development. Most notable change was the introduction of the shortcut route and World 8 not sucking ass
- I started tracking completion% when 26 out of 102 levels were done
- There are 129 levels in total
- I tried using all basegame elements in this episode, but I failed, because I never used the Luigi NPC.
