I always had a soft spot for Super Mario Land 2. It's not the most creative level design-wise, but it's so goofy that I have a hard time not loving it. Also, the massive difficulty spike in the final level fits perfectly with Wario's character. The intensity and the music amplify that Wario really wants Mario away from his castle. Seems like over time it's gotten more love, which is great! A shame this will be the last mainline game to not have Bowser as the main antagonist.
