It's been a long time since I properly updated this. Well, here's v1.5, with plenty of new additions!
- Swinging Claws (SMM2)
- Blockhoppers (NSMB)
- Crumbling Blocks (Celeste)
- Cannon Pipes (NSMB)
- Custom Bill Blasters (SMW/SMM/SMM2)
- Background Bills (SMM2)
- Sloped Mega Moles (SMW, concept/sprites by Sonikku)
- Burts (YI)
- Burt the Bashful (YI)
- Block Wings
- "Accordion" Bridges (SMW)
- Mildes (YI)
- Nids (DKC3)
- NPC injector (makes any NPC spawn another NPC when killed)
- Message box (YI)

Also includes a few small bug fixes, and the NPCs that have since been added to basegame are now in their own folder.

To witness an update live: nice!

Some things:
The "Accordian" Bridges are actually known as Stretch Blocks on the mariowiki. However it looks like your version is capable of doing much more than the original. With all these options you could easily create a whole level without even boring the player.

The new Block Wings are awesome! The amount of options they are providing are also amazing. And these are REALLY REALLY close to those of SMM2.

Ok, then I skipped a lot because I wanted to see how the ! Block ([Block] Exclamation Mark Block) is working but ... I still do not get it.
How do I use it? The ! block - no matter what I try - is already a used block ingame so I can not do anything with it. Please explain.

(because of how beta 5 works I can simply create a testmap in the folder itself, like "\MrDoubleAs_NPC_Pack_v1.5\[Block] Exclamation Mark Block" and it does recognize the content in the editor in the custom folder)

I think you forgot to move "[NPC] Goal Tape" into "Now in Basegame" as well?

To use the exclamation mark blocks, place redirector BGOs on top of the block. Then place more redirectors for any changes of direction and a terminus BGO for where its path should end.

Bug report: The SMM bullet bill and blaster uses the pipe cannon ini files.

Also it might be fairer to see the bg banzai blaster get loaded up before fireing.

Thanks for the reply. I did not exactly know if you know the "official name", I just wanted to make sure.

And thanks for the info regarding the ! Blocks! Placing them ON TOP of the block never crossed my mind. Thanks.

The normal bullet bill and bill blaster use the cannon pipe ini files instead of the blaster ones, so until MDA fixes it, you can just copy/paste the bulls-eye bill and blaster and name them to what they’re actually called.


Link fixed in main post, this is no longer necessary.

In SMBW, Bullet Bills were shot from cannons. Not Bill Blaster ... cannons. Shown in this video.

I tried to do this in X2, but it just acts like being shot from a blaster.

Is there a way for the bills to act like the ones in SMB Wonder?

Here is a cursed idea with Background Banzai Bills.
When Banzai Bill travels all the way to the camera, instead of disappearing in puff of smoke, it will explode and cause crack effects on camera (Interface screw moment). Second such hit causes even more cracks, rendering it very hard to see stuff in the game. Third hit causes camera shattering effect, instantly killing all players in the level. Cracks can be repaired by getting any power-up, except from item box.

Might be cool for something like a BG Bombshell Banzai, but definitely not the regular ones. Also the amount of camera hits for a one-hit KO might be too low. Maybe make it 5 or 6.

The (beta 5 included) Twister does not like the seesaw. It even screws around so much, as it does become "non-walkable" at the end as the gif shows:

I don’t think the twister weighted anything in SMM2, so setting its weight value to 0 should fix it. If that doesn’t fix it, then try disabling the Semisolid Slope fix.

weight=0 did not change anything for the twister.

Tried both seperate and and then combined together, no change. But thanks for trying.
