Using scripting to alter player sprites

Postby vee_Sleepy » Sun Feb 11, 2024 7:40 pm

I just recently downloaded beta 5 and it worked right away off of Bottles on my Linux OS which is amazing so I'm trying to make stuff and i'm wondering:

Could I put something in an episode .lua file to change the framerate of the player character's animations? I just feel some of them, like Klonoa, animate a little too fast and it'd be at least interesting to edit that

EDIT: I might as well ask to know if scripting can alter other aspects of the sprite, like the size of the hitboxes

First thing: Its theoretically possible, but the original code will also run, resulting in some wacky stuff.

Second thing: https://docs.codehaus.moe/#/features/npc-config

Oh.

In that case, there is the PGE player offset tool that is documented here.
https://docs.codehaus.moe/#/features/pl ... te-offsets
Additionally, there is also costume.lua, used by some of the basegame costume, that you also may want to look at.
