The pixel art and music is top-notch. You’ve also created a unique art style with some unique gameplay mechanics. I could say that this could be made by Nintendo, in fact.
The story is interesting, but there are some awkward verbiages and grammatical mistakes here and there. Some punctuation is also needed. I’d recommend you run the script through an AI-powered writing companion and see what it can do. It’s available at this website:

* Cut-off on the conveyor belt(s) in “Thwomp Cove”
* Missing shadows for Buzzy Beetles shot out of the cannons in “Sunset Shipyard”
* Captain Blotch attacks you while paused in “Sunset Shipyard”
* The inability to quickly scroll through text
* The inability to use a controller to scroll through dialog and the start menu
* Text sometimes encroaches on the text box border (found in intro and possibly elsewhere)
* The low health warning is somewhat annoying
* The inability to pause while aiming Starry
* The inability to pause during boss fights
