Character Selection Help

So in my episode, I would like the player to play as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and no one else. You might think that you can just do that by disabling Link in the testing menu, right?
Wrong.
Apparently there's a special command to switch a character on the map, pretty much defeating the purpose of the testing menu aside from the selected character and the state. All I want is just Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad. Just a typical Mario game without anything unnessacary whatsoever. Is there a way to disable this kind of command?

The testing menu, as the name suggests, is for testing. It doesn't affect the game itself.

There are checkboxes available in the world map file to disable certain characters.

I am having trouble like this too, the character selector is fine until you enter a level, then it bugs and allows you to select any character.
