TANGUARY JAMUARY
The contest that isn't a contest.

THE RULES
RULE 1 - You sign up for the contest by submitting EXACTLY ONE .zip file, containing a .lvlx level and its corresponding custom folder. Only your LATEST submission will be considered, giving leeway for last-minute changes. Your submission can be any level, with any kind of custom graphics or lua chicanery or funky playable characters or anything like that. It doesn't even have to be a newly made level, it just has to exist. You may have any number of stars, any number of exits, any kind of sprite, it doesn't matter. Just have a level.
RULE 2 - The due date is January 31. No extensions. If I get no submissions, then I will just make an empty hub world.
RULE 3 - Arbitrary "judging" and level ordering. I will give your level an arbitrary, but completely objective, amount of points. I am not allowed to be subjective. The meta-contest is figuring out why your level scored the amount of points it did. I'll probably say the metrics I used somewhere in the hub world.
RULE 4 - If multiple people make a level, please include every author in your submission. This is just for convenience's sake.
RULE 5 - I can't include levels that don't work. I'll try to contact you if you messed up your .zip file.
RULE 6 - Make sure your zip file's filename contains both your name and your level's name. Also for convenience's sake. I'll be angry in the hub if your level doesn't have a name.
SOFT RULE 7 - Make your level completable in at least one way. You don't have to, but I'll be angry at you in the hub if you don't.

OTHER STUFF
Medals - Medals and corresponding userbars might be handed out for following additional objectives. These objectives will not be revealed until submissions are complete and results have been released.
Also feel free to use this as the discussion thread too (or just talk about it on your discord server of choice, i don't care)

also, there seems to be at least one submission so far, there's no way to tell without explicit sign-up being required

Update 2: For me I used in another sections every checkpoint a Small filter to get Mario small, and Never get stucked in Switches

it's the LAST DAY by the way - Sometime tomorrow i will be drawing the LINE AFTER WHICH LEVEL SUBMISSIONS DO NOT COUNT. it'll look like a bunch of hyphens in a row - you'll know when you see it.

Heads up: your instant retry doesn't work. i use the retry option and it doesn't do anything. if it helps, i'm playtesting your level inside of a hub world in 'actually playing an episode' mode (as opposed to 'level testing' mode)

i'm gonna comment out any nozip or related collision lua stuff because the level softlocks so much. you have forced my hand

how strange, if the level was not softlocked when I played it in test mode why?

you have to exit the game and restart from the beginning if mario gets trapped in a switch block that suddenly turns on. there's no way to move or die
